^^It says 12.10 but also pertains to 12.11 beta.
On a side note.. 12.11 beta 6 has been released today!

This is not driver specific bug/issue but rather a decision they made year(s) ago, I cannot tell exactly when. Maybe he could give an answer or ask the driver team :-). It's abit offtopic though, sorry about that. Just never seen AMD rep, so though to ask!

AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta6 resolves the issue with engine and memory clocks running too high when the GPU is idle. Clocks will now run at the proper level when the GPU is idle. This issue was only observed with specific displays and was observed in the AMD Catalyst 12.11Beta 4 and AMD Catalyst 12.10 drivers; The AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta6 has replaced the AMD Catalyst 12.11Beta 4 driver that was posted Oct 23, 2012

Somebody get this man a drink. thumb.gif

I have a question for Thracks

Do you know if there is a fix on the way for the 7XXX series when it comes to WoW lockups?

One of many threads on the topic can be found here

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4838103854

I myself have experienced this issue, and so far running in DX9 mode has solved the issues (only seems to happen when running in DX11 Mode) and has happened with all drivers starting with 12.9

Thanks thumb.gif

They knew about this for awhile?

I was only suggesting that the DX9 fix would be on high priority for the next release, not that I knew for sure it would be. Looks like I was right smile.gif

Also, is there a release notes page for 12.11 beta6?

Lets hope this is true. I already RMA'd one card because i thought it is broken because of that strange behavior (flickering/artifacts)

When is the full 12.11 release? Or is there no set release time and they're just gonna release it when it's ready?

Beta 6 now available with idle clocks fixed. Beta 5 was an internal attempt to fix the clocks, and beta 6 is the public version. The other betas I mentioned (CODBLOPS2 and AC3) are still being released, just with different beta versions.

Please report the bug at www.amd.com/report. Please note that the page may be temporarily unavailable while we update it for beta 6. In the mean time, try turning the in-game AA down to MSAA 2x and using CCC to override. Let me know what happens.

I am wondering if my Artifact problems with WoW was a result of running WoW in DX9. I should of tested DX11 but I did not. WoW was the only game I saw artifacts in and was the only game I ran in DX9. Is there a problem with artifacts & DX9 that you know of?

We are aware that certain DX9 games seem to cause flickering. Yep.

I haven't personally experienced it yet, though. Currently playing Dishonored, GW2 and Alan Wake pretty extensively.
