AMD 12.11 Beta Drivers - Page 48

I've been getting an issue where in game the screen goes black for about 10 seconds or so and then windows comes back complaining about color scheme and asking me if I want to go back to basic color in windows 7. Any ideas?
Thanks for the reply, I have submitted reports via the reporting site for 12.10 and the 12.11 betas. Adjusting in-game and CCC settings did not resolve the hard lock issue. I also tried going from PCIe 3.0 to 2.0 and the issue remained. All other games are fine, I can play BF3, MOH:WF or Borderlands 2 all night without issue, but WoW would still hard lock the system (Once it crashed a little differently as I was able to get back to the desktop with the Display Driver stopped responding message, but all other times I would need to do a hard shutdown).

Strange to hear that, i personally have seen it in Dishonored. It may be be rare and easy to overlook but it is definitely there and it's really annoying because you start getting "an eye for it" and gaming becomes more like "catch an artifact-flicker".
Maybe it doesn't affect Crossfire setups. But i really hope you gonna see it too which may help to solve the problem more soon. i already RMA'd one Card because of that just to get another one with the same thing happening. Didn't had any issues on any DX11 game so far. But i only played Sleeping Dogs and BF3 which are DX11. Seen that strange behaviour on DX9 Games like Starcraft 2, Portal 2 and Dishonored (but not in Syndicate which also seems to be DX9) . Some of my Friends reporting the same thing.

Beta 6 now available with idle clocks fixed. Beta 5 was an internal attempt to fix the clocks, and beta 6 is the public version. The other betas I mentioned (CODBLOPS2 and AC3) are still being released, just with different beta versions.

It would be nice to get Black Ops 1 working first been waiting for a year. Still have artifacts on every driver but 11.12.

Hey thracks, has the APP SDK issue been solved yet? In case yuo aren't aware, here's a thread we have going detailing it somewhat below. In a nutshell though, starting with 12.10 and later, AMD GPU's are limited to only 35-45% usage in Folding@Home. A manual install of the APP SDK 2.7 is required to get it to work.

Here's the thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1323729/amd-gpu-folding-on-12-11-beta-drivers

I see a decent amount of artifacts in Skyrim with my HD 7970m (based on HD 7870) with 12.11 beta3. It may have been mentioned already but just to make sure.

From AMD customer support:

"Your service request : SR #{ticketno:[8200516003]} has been reviewed and updated.

Response and Service Request History:

Thank you for contacting AMD

I understand you want to know if the Direct X 9 fixes for the 7000M would be in a hotfix update with the 12.11 Beta or in a future WHQL driver. If I have missed any critical information please let me know as my suggestions may change.

The Catalyst Engineers rarely release a hot fix for a Beta driver. Any updates would be implemented in the next WHQL drivers. At this time there is no release date on when the next WHQL driver will be released. But it should not be that long of a wait.

Please be aware that if we do not hear back from you, we will assume that the issue has been resolved and the service request will be permanently closed after 10 days. If more time is needed to evaluate my suggestion please let me know and I will ensure this service request remains open for you.

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.
Best regards,

AMD Global Customer Care"

It remains unfixed in latest 12.11 beta 6 release.
i.e. I can reproduce it with a page like this (no flash player or animations or images, just simple text, and I can arrive to 3d clocks easily just scrolling up and down !!).

This is a lack of cooperation between Firefox and Amd teams.

Nvidia released a fix for a similar issue in September 2011.

So I wonder, why not AMD?
