It is safe to say the flickering issue isn't limited to DX9. I don't see flickering in Battlefield 3, so it isn't like every game will suffer, but DX11 games can be subject to flickering.

I have exactly this problem. I'm actually experiencing this black flickering issue on ALL games I've played regardless if they use Directx 9 or Directx 11. I'm actually so frustrated... I just RMA'd my first 7950 this morning and still receiving the same issues on my new MSI 7950.

Here's the video I've uploaded of the black flickering in Sleeping Dogs (which uses Directx 11)

This flickering happens on both Directx9 and Directx11 games!

Need a resolution, I've been pulling my hair out trying to troubleshoot this frown.gif

Man I think that are real faulty vc artifacts, usually the flickering is not that insane, like all of us it only happen on DX9 or older games I think,I played metro, sleeping dogs and no artifacts, but somethings for example in COD 4 there is where I found and starting to worry,I saw some artifacts there, then tested other games and DX 10-11 games no artifacts,I also play Skyrim DX 9 but no artifacts there either, well just hope we get a fix quick xD

It's either these drivers or Black Ops 2 itself but I have never seen both my gpu's running at 97% usage in a game I've played since I've crossfired my 6870's. Smooth constant frame rates. Ahh...thumb.gif

I just installed 12.11 beta 7. It still flickers on the desktop with a 3D app open, yay for clock jitter. I quickly set Afterburner to bypass Powerplay.

FYI, good ole RC11 does not flicker at all, Powerplay on or off. I tested RC11 too, for a baseline before going to 12.11 B7.

I hope you read this Thracks.

If you set AB Overclocking to 1, you'll have the clocks jumping around on the desktop, which cause funky issues with lines and whatnot. Setting it to 2 disables bypasses powerplay, and thus rids the user of the jumping clocks and the problems that come with it.

Voltages vary from card to card. You might not need to adjust your voltage at all to hit 1GHz core. My 7970s were stock at 1.175v (I know, much higher) and would do 1150MHz core/1700MHz memory on stock volts.

Hmm, i played through sleeping dogs in DX11 and didn't had any issues so far using a 7850. From my own expierience only DX9 games suffer flickering (but doenst seem like every dx9 game does). But i wouldn't bet on a "DX9 only issue" either. I just didn't play a lot DX11 games so it is hard to tell..
AMD needs to come up with SOMETHING otherwise it's quite disturbing. Im suffering this so called "DX9 flickering" since the release of the card and RMA'd it 2 times. I wrote dozends of reports after every driver, tested different PSU, RAM and cards of my friends (while they tested mine on their pc) my friends had the same issue and i didn't had any issues with their cards.

At the Moment my card was more "work" than "joy". I like AMD and im a loyal customer for years, but this issue is pissing me off. And to be honest im sick of waiting, i waited for moths now, it's not that i dont have patience. I think i was one of the first people who noticed it, i wrote so many reports, searched so many forums.

**EDIT**
you may try updating your motherboard bios and get sure you pushed your card deep enough in the slot. It seems like some textures are invisible for you. I once saw such an issue on IGPU when the RAM was clocked to far. Maybe check ram timings as well..

I know it's not negative, but I just wanted to say that with the new beta6 drivers, everything is working great for me. So at least one configuration has got it right, AMD. Playing Sleeping Dogs, BF3, Metro 2033, CS:GO, TF2, GTA IV and GW2. Also my 2d/3d clock rates work over DVI now.

Hello guys. Want to ask You about this flickering in dx9 games. Had the same problems with new 12.11 beta and 12.10 drivers. Returned to older 12.9 beta and it seems to be best driver for the moment. Playing some dx9 games (World of tanks, Borderlands2, Darksiders2) didn't have flickering or artifacts. Can anyone comment this?
P.S. With 12.8 had rare issues in World of tanks.
