AMD 12.11 Beta Drivers - Page 84

After setting Afterburner to unofficial overclocking mode, the card stays at 3d clocks (and 3d volts). Is this how the setting is supposed to work? Would I just have to manually create a 2d profile, and set them under Afterburner's "Automatic profile management" setting?

I manually set a game and idle profile for mine, as well as fan speeds.

what i do is have 2 profiles. one @ stock settings and the other @ my overclock settings
in "Automatic profile management"
i set the 2D profile to my stock setting profile and my 3D profile to my overclocked profile

and like above i use a manual fan curve to control my fans

Just installed the beta8. Anyone getting glitches with water in Planetside 2? I forgot to take a screenshot, but it's very dark and has dots over it like some sort of dithering filter.

Ok well, anybody can confirm the actual installation and usage procedure of CAPs? I just tested 12.11 cap 1 and my FIFA 13 started off at 170 frames (and gradually dropped which is actually an issue with the game) and it used to be past 210 frames with 12.10 cap 1. I uninstalled 12.11 cap 1 and re-installed my old 12.10 cap 1 and my frames were back up to 210.

12.10 cap 1 listed performance improvements in FIFA 13 and I thought the next CAPs would have the older improvements included. But the moment I uninstalled it and installed 12.11 cap 1, my FIFA 13 improvements were gone

Well unless I can install 12.10 cap 1 and 12.11 cap 1 together, any other suggestions are welcome

Has anyone figured out what's the deal with the voltage spikes? I overclocked and have voltage at 1200mv. During the course of gaming it'll occasionally spike to 1600mv. Seems like thats the magic number. Sometimes, however it'll spike up and stay at 1600 for a bit. XFX 7870 Double D is my card

Wondering if anyone has experience horrible horizontal lines using ANY 12.11 beta driver with Afterburner? It seems with any and all 12.11 beta drivers I get these twitchy horizontal lines whenever I open a program / folder, move my mouse across the screen or scroll up and down. Ive tried unofficial overclocking mode 1 and 2 in AB, decreasing my OC, different versions of AB, using DVI instead of HDMI and nothing works. It does it with even the smallest OC of 25Mhz. I had to switch to Trixx because of this which is unfortunate because I very much like AB.

I get this as well -- rendering game-playing useless! As soon as I do any manner of overclock/change through AB, I get this horrendous corruption. It's almost like "smearing", and it happens when I drag a window or folder across the screen. It stays around even if I exit AB. I have to do a full reboot to clear it.

Although AB is preferred, can Trixx do overclocking just as well as AB? I need my speeds and voltages bumped like I used to be able to do before beta 8. I'm not sure if the problem is on AMD's driver's side, or if it's with AB.

I see that AB just released 2.3.0. I'm wondering if this could possibly be fixed with this update, although I'm doubting it :/

EDIT: I've installed Trixx and tried overclocking -- it produces the exact same glitches/malfunctions/artifacts as AB's overclocking. I'm wagering it's something that's more at fault with AMD's driver side, than with these 3rd party apps.

Uninstall completely AB and try again,
