The problem is not bad performance because the driver is unoptimised for a specific, old DX9 game. The problem is, the card seems defective. If you don't care that you bought an expensive, defective product, let others do. Also, 'move on', where? Skyrim anyone? None? It happens since the 7000 series had been released. Almost a year with problematic Dx9. Do you think the world is ready to completely abandon Dx9 in an instant?

So the card is defective and he is complaining drivers need to be fixed? Explain that one to me? My 7970 works fine for Skyrim, how is the product defective. If it is the issue of a bad card why are you talking about it in a driver section?

I can suggest buying a console for DX9. Remember, this is apparently a defective product, being complained about in a driver thread. I have a handful of DX9 games, Skyrim, Witcher 2 etc. No problem.

To follow on from what the first person said, I would suggest to people complaining about high end cards being defective with DX9, don't post about it in a driver thread. Don't bother buying high end cards if you don't know how to trouble shoot and just because YOU are experiencing a problem does not mean something is defective.

OMG. rolleyes.gif

Are you seriously saying that the DX9 flicker is an isolated hardware failure?

And that DX9 support on PC is irrelevant? I have both PS3 and X360, thank you for asking. Doesn't affect my DX9 needs for my PC, not even a bit.

Are you serious lol? Im on a 7850 this card is far away from high end. And it should be able to play DX9 games without screen corruption. DX9 is still around and there are even new games released with DX9. I RMA'd that damn thing 2 times. And have the same issue on my 3rd. I tested all 3 of them in my buddys PC. So what you tryin to tell me is that 3 of 3 cards or both computers are defective? Does AMD only sell defective products?
Imho i think you just not able to see them. Or don't care if you do. It's nothing that lasts long or flickers all the time. It's just a short black shadow flickering for a split second every few hours. You may overlook it, you may have blinked with your eyes when it happens or you just do not consider that as unnormal.
But im pissed off by this issue. And because it seems like an driver issue or compatibilty issue. This is the right thread for it. Even thracks told me that this problem is known and and top priority of the company. Obviously it is not fixed yet. So what else is this thread good for? Circlejerking about how much more framerates you got in game XY?

I thought I was quiet clear. Driver thread, not hardware thread.

LOL. Yes that's exactly what I said. thumb.gif

I cannot speak for anyone but myself, I have had my cards since Jan this year. No DX9 problems. I guess that means I got two most special cards in the world.
The rest of he world is unlucky as there is a hardware defect in current AMD cards with DX9, except for mine.

I feel so lucky.

I bet 50%+ of hardware/driver issues are the users fault.

If his card is borked it, go RMA it and quit moaning about drivers.

Oh so it's a driver issue now, not a hardware?
What happened to all AMD cards being defective? Not what you said that but you see where I'm coming from.

I feel your pain btw, I once had 3 gtx 275s arrive DOA on me, not fun.

Big difference between calling all AMD products defective and it being a bug which AMD are aware of and looking to fix. Why is the other guy saying its a hardware problem then?
