AMD 12.11 Beta Drivers - Page 98

Mate (@Newbie2009), 7000 series being defective was just my personal opinion. It happens on all cards since day 1, but only when people started realising what is going on, AMD's PR guy here said, "ah, we just noticed and we're on it". After countless reports by many guys for months... When they will fix it ( if ), be sure I'll be the first who will shut my mouth. Until then, it's something more than serious in my book. If eventually this is true, you know, it might be a reason for general recall. Now, given AMD's bad economic situation, nor in the slithest I would expect an honest recall. Let's just wait, but for how long... As I said it's almost a year.

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic. Won't happen again.

Half of those are genuine. Half probably borked the install. Reminds me of all the outrage of the last few months that AMD are voltage locking their cards. Granted some of them are but half of the outrage is because people jump on a forum moaning about it before doing any research on how to unlock voltage.
Anyway apologies if I seemed to jump on you.

Truly, apologies not needed. I didn't think anything; just saying. tongue.gif

It's well documented and fortunately it's been confirmed. Personally I've videos from 3 Dx9 games: CoD MW2, Dragon Age Origins, Borderlands 2.

As the guy above said, it's very easy to not notice. It happens randomly on every game and the flicker "varies". Furthermore, Gigabyte tested and replaced my first card after they found it problematic. Otherwise, why they replaced a months-old card with a brand new? My point is, I was playing only DX11 games at the beginning and didn't notice either.

I'm on my 3rd RMA using my card on 3 different PC setups.

There's no reason to fight. But as you said i only can speak for myself. And sure they are some people who may think that they share the same issue but have just a defective card.
But really im not a noob about such stuff. And your "gaming for 20 years" slogan also fits on me. I had a lot of hardware, i work in a job where i fix conifiguration and hardware issues. So i for myself can say i do nothing wrong here (and to be honest there is not much you can do wrong). Thracks told me that it is an DX9 issue. After that i realised that all DX11 games are fine. Before that i just thought i got a broken card, mainboard, ram or PSU.
I even checked some customer pc's with some of my affected games after work. I sat in the computerstore till 2am to figure out what's wrong. And i could reproduce it on any pc with a 7000 card.
I don't know why you did not see the issue yet and i don't want to insult you, but you may just overlook it or not beeing able to see it. But it's there. Maybe it's just a 7800 issue. I couldn't test a 7900 card yet.
I for my part think it's an driver issue or some compatibily issue with the mainboards (tested only ASUS and Asrock boards).

I think that thing somehow is like seeing "floaters" some people have them and don't know that they have them. ;D

i have a asus 7970 card and i am having non of the problems that is being report here. i have just been playing boardlands 2 maxed out and it ran perfect. im using the 12.11 7beta drivers

what problems are people saying the new cards have coz i don`t see it, unless your using the oc cards ?
Still getting flickering in Skyrim, not as often as before but when it does happen (indoors) it flickers worse then with beta 6/7
post #979 of 1877
ITT logic: "If my card works flawlessly, so does every other and there is no way they have problems."

Honestly guys, if you got lucky enough to get a flawless card, be happy about it, but that does by no chance mean that people having actual problems are making it up.

I haven't any screen flickering problems either, but several drivers, excluding 12.4, 12.8 and 12.11 beta8 have caused my PC to crash. Just cause no one else had this problem, it doesn't mean i didn't.

Now stop calling each other stupid and putting the blame on them, some people have problems, some don't. AMD is working on it. Until then, deal with it.

There is absolutely no reason to argue whether or not the DX9 flicker is a bug. It is confirmed by AMD. The question is if the fix mentioned in the beta 11 release notes solves the issue or at least makes it better.
