Best version of Mint? - Page 2

you could also try mint 13 KDE 64bit, but that's just my opinion. To be completely honest I'm so accustomed to KDE that I get lost when using Ubuntu' and Zorin OS6's gnome on my friend's and little brother's PC, never tried cinnamon, XFCE, LXDE or MATE though but have tried Unity and not particularly fond of it.

I'm running that, and I wouldn't recommend it. The low frequency of updates coupled with the feature-poor Cinnamon has left me pretty disappointed to be honest. It's nice you never have to re-install to upgrade to the 'next version', but interim updates are too few and far between for my liking

Well, you only need to open the control centre to see there are a lot fewer customisation options than the Mate equivalent. Not to mention that the last update pack broke the theming (partially fixed by the latest cinnamon update to 1.6, but still not 100% right)

I personally use Cinnamon. I love it. But as with any shell you can customize it to your liking. I have no problems whatsoever with my setup and all is running well. Even getting decent frame rates running GW2 thumb.gif I really think you will love Cinnamon though if you try it!

There's no updates for LMDE right now as debian testing is in a freeze, once the freeze is over the updates will start rolling again.

Then i'm definitely confused, I thought that 9,10, and 11 were debian based?

Edit- nevermind, I always assumed that Debian, ubuntu and Linux mint were synonymous with eachother.
