Sounds like a firmware problem, no problems with my Facebook app. Works well and notifications / messages deliver right on time.

But yeah, a revamped FB app should be coming soon for Android. I think at this point, care more about the OS than a facebook app. FriendCaster is a good alternative as I mentioned before.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. In regards to Windows 8, I personally go by the "only get every,3rd version of WIndows". If you are a long time windows user you will know what I mean and relate to the horrifying times with WinME, VIsta...

I been reading into alot of ios6 vs JB and it seems to be that JB puts CPU priority on OS and background apps where IOS sets the interface as high priority. So even though, say a TF700 is a more powerful unit, the IPAD3 will always appear to run smoother.

Also, she gets frustrated with keyboard lag (missed keystrokes) , I know because it happens to me as well on JB on my N7.

Plus Facebook is baked right into ios6.

I picked her up a TF700 yesterday and swapped it in place of her TF201. She experienced the same frustrations not knowing it was a completely new device (our TF201 is in amazing condition). So Im going to return it and give the IPAD3 a fair shot.

Facebook has been forcing its Devs to use the app on their android phones to try and spur development because of how bad it is, and it has slowly been improving, but I cant say ive used it much in the past 8 months. I switched over to flipboard a while back.

IOS definitley has a better user experience, but after working with Windows Phone and getting a little training on an 8 RT tablet at work I can say that my recommendation would be to go for a slate.

As long as she understands its not ever going to be the same as using it on a computer.

Facebook for iOS was just completely rewritten to run natively. This improved performance tremendously.
