Recommend me an XFX !

Oke i'm still building my new rig....

Now something's sure, and that's i'm gonna get an XFX.... '

- XFX Site !

Now this is what i had in mind:

- Geforce 7600GT XXX
- GeForce 7600 GT XT HDTV

now i not sure i want to run SLI cause i heard some mixed things. Some say that 1 good card would overun 2 average cards in SLI and that you need a powerfull mobo + CPU to even run SLI good. Now i'm not worried about the mobo, CPU and DDR cause that's ok... Now i don't have a big budget so my ultimate price would be € 200 but that means no SLI for 6 months orso.... cause this new rig is costing me more money that i actualy have

What is your experiences with SLI, is running SLI with 2 different types (same brand) of cards even possible or a-ok to do ? should i just get 1 GOOD card or what ?

The 7600GT is a good card. I would not recommend SLI but instead to get just one good card.

XFX 7600GT XXX cards are amazing overclockers, considering that they are already overclocked in the first place. Without any v-mods or aftermarket coolers I was still able to overclock it from 590/800 to 650/850 stable. Jixx was able to get it to 777/910 with the v-mod and a zalman cooler.

Incredible overclocks considering the stock Nvidia card runs at 560/700

ok, now that i know how good this card is.... (rofl, i still know the old days with the MX 440 SE )

but still haven't heard anyone say why or why not i should run SLI...
The only reason to run sli, is if your going to be running very high resolutions. 1600x1200 and up. If your only running 1024x768 or even 1280x1024 you only need one card. A second card will give you slightly better frame rates , maybe 5 to 10 more.

hmm, i always run every game at a resolution of 1600x1200 (the only games that wouldn't run normal anymore at those resolutions are Oblivion and F.E.A.R. )

damn, ok that means SLI is a go !? but is it possible to run a XFX 7600 in SLI with a XFX 7900 for example or is that a no go... cause that will decide which card i should take...
to run in SLI both cards need to be the same, 7600 and 7600 or 7900 and 7900. Can't mix them
