gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L compatibility with pentium d 925

Hi, I am confused about something.

Is the Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L mobo compatible with pentium d 925?

I know the official website of gigabyte says its compatible. But a computer technician has told me(actually ensured me) that

"the g-41 chipsets create problems with pentium d cpu because the pentium d's are old processors and gets very hot which don't adapt well at all to the mobo. The computer might run maximum 2/3 months and then there will be problems in the mobo.. maybe ram might not be detected etc etc... however the older g-31 or 945 chipsets are compatible with the cpu. However duel core, core 2 duo etc being the newer models, are compatible with g41 cuz they run in less temperature which the g41 is able to practically endure."

I want to know if its true(at least to any extent) and I need accurate answer. Because I'll buy the computer and sell it to someone else. And already had a contact with the buyer that he'll take the g-41. But getting that information from the technician, i informed that to the buyer and now he's rather confused now with the mobo and with maybe even about if he wants to buy the pc at all. Because his special priority was a g-41 chipset board.

He is full of it.

There will be no issues running a Pentium D in that board. They don't pull as much power as a Q6600, and your board supports the Q6600 just fine.

Sometimes I wonder where these techs get this stuff from. Was he trying to sell you an upgrade per chance? tongue.gif

Well its true that if i don't buy that g-41 i eventually have to buy some g-31 or 945 from him but he's not dishonest as I've seen. Thanks for the answer corky dorkelson.

However am waiting for more opinions from all and specially from those who have the exact configuration a g-41 mobo and pentium d 925(4 MB cache, 3.00 GHz). Thank you.

Well, I did go back and do some research and SOME models of G41 boards did have some issues with the older Pentium D CPUs. Yours is the newer revision, so I wouldn't imagine any issues.

But I will eat my words, as your tech is a bit closer to the truth than me (this time tongue.gif)
