First off, the average red ESC key isn't doubleshot.
Second, all red ESC doubleshots are thin (unless Slaebo made some red ESC I don't know about)
Third, keycap "look", colour and Cherry Corp font.

This was manufactured by Cherry and was made using the same molds as their other DS caps. The difference is in the feel

Cherry ones will never be made again since they discontinued doubleshot keycaps in 2009 and sold off all of thier production equipment. There is a good chance all of the original molds no longer exist either. Even then only so many were made first on limited edition wNv keyboard and another small run of just the esc key were made as a custom order. These are one of the rarest and most sought after Cherry doubleshot keycaps.

Just one of those deals for those that are into niche things.

My rule of thumb is when the key costs more than your keyboard you are doing it wrong.

This last picture confirmed, those are indeed Hack Orange CCs. I'm pretty sure Hack Orange is the only orange buckling spring CC produced... not 100% on that though.

To confirm, you got those in the latest CC sale, correct?

Very true...

One advantage to our hobby is that these boards and caps have resale value. And in the case of caps, many of them can be sold for more than you paid for it (hence this thread).

It's unfortunate the same can't be said for overclocked CPUs...

Unless you find a highly binned one....like lets say a 6.9ghz capable 3770k, then you could sell it for well over $1000 to the right person. wink.gif

I was just recently introduced into the keycapping hobby, and while I'm rather new... it is surprisingly addicting.

I can def see why an ENTIRE site dedicated to such a topic does exist and prosper.
