Looks like it's loading the driver properly, not sure what else could be wrong. ( I don't use Ubuntu so have to look at the ways they do things e.e )

But a bit of googling and it seems to have found a similar Ubuntu forum thread with the same card and same problem, driver is active but the card won't connect, you can try the solution given by the forum staff member http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11906628&postcount=5 and see if it helps any ( basically cleans out everything and installs b43 and b43-fwcutter ).

sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source broadcom-sta-common broadcom-sta-source

then

sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer

Yes indeed. I haven't had a problem with it on Arch for over a year now, but Debian and Ubuntu still seem to have issues :/

My last Debian install on my laptop required me to use testing (Wheezy) to get it to work, I believe mostly to do with the newer kernel, tried everything on Squeeze and it just wouldn't connect to anything.

alright, i finally got around to doing that.
still nothing though. here's what i put into terminal:
Code:
spitfire@craptop:~$ sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source broadcom-sta-common broadcom-sta-source
Reading package lists... Done

spitfire@craptop:~$ sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer

b43-fwcutter is already the newest version.
b43-fwcutter set to manually installed.
firmware-b43-installer is already the newest version.

same error as before. it scans for a network, but never actually connects.

I am still new to this but I had these issues with my infamous netgear adapter. It would refuse to connect to a secure network or even the network at first., but even to get it installed I had to install ndiswrapper to get it working and even after I had to probe it to activate it to get it to work. If you still have issues, my advice is just to buy a $29.00 Belkin N150 USB adapter. It works perfect with Ubuntu style distros like mint and others. It maybe a cheap way of fixing it but at least in the future you don't have to worry about it and it will be a long time before any real house hold will hit 150Mbps. I know this thread is a week old but hope it helps someone still.
