It is just no one has seen such a chip in the past! Only the top .12% of Sandy bridge could do this! That is 6Ghz on air!

The FX-8350 is for sale on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284&Tpk=fx%208350

Their $219 price is high compared to the MSRP. I wonder if they will drop it.

Guys don't hype the OCing too much just yet. One source couldn't get 5.05 stable, we have BP and others that were at the toronto event saying that the chips booted up nicely at 5ghx with 1.45v and then we have that one really good 5ghz sreen.

The sample size is way too small to make any final judgements yet.

But I'm already impressed with 8350 on linux, too bad I already bought an Intel mobo. Will convince my girfriend to build an 8350 so I can overclock it biggrin.gif

Lol! I just made a 5800k for my missus just to overclock, waiting on a aftermarket cooler. looks like i'm going to make the big switch and all turn amd just to support them, wouldnt want intel to become the only monopoly...

The 5800K will be superb if it is anything like my 5600K.

Trinity is a lot of fun to play with.

I am not going all AMD as I love my SB-E rig but I will be giving AMD my future dollars up to the IVY-B hexacores release.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504&name=Processors-Desktops

please you mean newegg.com.
witch is only for the usa! maybe to you a extra 30 $ on a cpu and than a extra 30$ for a mobo is not a lot but for people on budgets it's plenty it can mean the difference in a great gpu or a low end gaming gpu. And yes sure people say Asrock is great. i can't really prove it wrong. But you can really say they are that great when only 6 months to a year has passed since they bough there mobos.
who knows how long they will last those mobos and high voltage.
also the fact that a lot of people will be upgrading from a ph II they will be saving a 100 to 200$ because they don't need t o change there mobo.
So in the end people will be saving way more than just 30$.
