[Various] AMD Piledriver FX-Series CPU Reviews (Vishera FX-8350, FX-8320, FX-6300, FX-4300) - Page 18

I jsut fried my 7950 so i bought 2 more, they will be here tomorrow and also added another crucial m4 for some raid 0. Currently have an fx8120 and max overclock is 4.4ghz. I cant decide to get the 8320 or the 8350?!?!? Trust me the money I have recently spent, that $40 is a lot! Think Ill go with the 8320 because It will most likely overclock within 100/200mhz of the 8350.

Im seriously having a delima now, I have a sabertooth z77 in my cart along with a PD 8350 and im starting at my current amd rig in complete disgust lol. I wanted to trash it an hour ago because i had no hope for PD and now its going to kick ass. So what do i do, grab it any way and slowly build my Intel rig at the same time while i fidle with PD?

Last I heard, Intel won't be exactly using IB's tri-gate technology, they'll be using an improved version.

The 5.05 ghz one also seems to have overclocked the NB (Rated FSB) to 2600 mhz, while the others have the NB at the usual stock 2000 mhz. It's quite possible that it was the NB that was unstable, not the CPU.

My board has to support these CPUs.

I think people are getting a bit too excited because of some linux benchies...

For the majority who like to game most of the time I think it'd be wise to wait for proper benchmarks.

Exactly, IPC x Clock Speed = IPS. That's why the Athlon XP+ series did so well from AMD. While they had a much lower clock speed than their Intel counterparts, they had a higher IPC and lower clocked AMD CPUs were able to keep up with higher clocked Pentiums.
