Currently an aluminum mouse pad that has great tracking with laser mice the Mionix Ensis 320.

My second rig with SS Fnatic is paried with the SS 4HD (smaller version of 9HD) and a nice simple hard gray mat with little flex that tracks well. Kids lay claim to that now. tongue.gif

I've been a Razer fan and just looking at their newer offerings before elsewhere. For the moment I'm going to use a cloth pad until warmer months unless I find something just right for me that's all year round.

You're welcome!
Regarding to using an aluminum pad cold wrist in the the winter.
I have an crazy idea, you know some usb mug warmer or kids warm mouse pad?
Somehow take out the heat pad, connect it to the aluminum pad makes it warm.

Don't try it at home, you might get shock biggrin.gif

@Arizonian if you don't like the cold feeling of aluminum pad in the winter like me, kindly remind that,
I still feel the cold on Invicta's frame. But not as cold as the whole pad, only a touch of the frame.
Friction wise, the big texture side is less friction than the smooth side, both sides are low friction similar to SX aluminum pad.
But without the cold wrist biggrin.gif That's why Invicta is my alternative hard pad in the winter.

Hope this help smile.gif

How does the Scarab compare to the SP? Is it rough like the SP or does it just feel like another standard hard pad?

I'm looking for a replacement for the SP, as mine is getting worn down (and SS doesn't make the SP anymore frown.gif).

I really want to try out the Manticor. Too bad the Ironclad turned out to be a failure, I really liked its look. I got a Scarab but quickly realized that it is no match for the aluminum of the SX and sold it quickly afterwards. The ultra smooth glide and cold feel of aluminum is hard to give up. I could care less about tracking precision since I play RTS and zero FPS, long-term comfort is way more important for me. Hopefully the Manticor is worthy to replace the Ironclad and the SX.

@LinkPro totally agree. It's hard to replace the ultra low friction on aluminum pad thumb.gif
@sixxxxxx Scarab is even more smoother than 4/9HD, no texture, like tiny grain on sandpaper.

Picture shows the surface sample on the box. You can tell it is a sticker glues on a plastic board.
So you can imagine how thin it is.
I guess SP alternative is destructor 2, big rough texture. I wanna see demo in store too rolleyes.gif

I've posted a couple of reviews, including the megasoma 2 and the Manticor. Hope these help some of you if you're on the fence. Overall I feel that Razer has been upping their quality: http://youtu.be/DTGfuhSbbOs
