Scythe fan doubts, typhoon/ultra kaze

Hey all, my dad is coming to visit me soon in Brasil and i want him to bring me a few things from Canada...
Some of these things are new fans as the choices we have here in Brasil are kinda limited. I have a HAF 932 and i use a 4X120mm combo on the side panel (currently using some generic CM blue led fan). I also have a H100 with stock fans.

I would like to get 4 new fan for my side panel and change the stock fan on my H100 and go Push/Pull.

From where i would buy as well as other brand i would have the possibility of getting either 16DBA(37,1CFM) or 21DBA(45,9CFM) Gentle Typhoon, i was thnking of using them on my H100.

I was also thinking of getting 4XCASE FAN 120MM SCYTHE ULTRA KAZE 133CFM 45DBA fro my side panel. My 6970's run so much cooler with the generic fan i alrdy use i think these 4 little guys would do wonder in the year long summer brasilian days...

My ambiant temp are fairly high in the 30's to mid 30's.

What do you guys think? Would the gentle be a better option for the H100 or i might as well get 8xUltr Kaze?

Thks in advance.

Where exactly in Canada? If it is in the General Toronto Area then you'll be in luck with some Scythe GT AP-15's as they're currently on sale here for $12 CAD + tax.

For temps...it's a hard choice really if you don't mind the noise the UltraK's produce then go with the UltraK's 3k rpm ones, then again that defeats the purpose of having the H100 in the first place...

For me if you're looking into getting a quiet system...get the GT AP-15's and get these: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=8_134&item_id=049081 for your 6970s.

But if it's all about cooling and you're better off with just the UltraK's.

The UKs will be crazy loud.

Personally, I used 4 x Scythe GT AP15 1850s for push/pull on my H100... quiet but efficient.

I have used a UK 2000 on the side panel to cool my GPU... works well with a fan controller.

I had them for 19,00$ + taxes at Microbytes.com. My dad will buy from internet so ill take a look at these.
Would 2X6970 at 50-70% fan speed noiser then 4x Ultra Kaze? I don't really care about the noise, (i never had a silent pc... so i may not know what i am missing).

is this the Scythe GT AP15 1850s you are talking about?
What about the side panel? would they be enough?

No, the Cfm is too low.

These are what Im using... (I know its not the same web site)

For side panel cooling, should be okay though. You just want to move air, not penetrate a radiator smile.gif

Canada Computers do internet orders/shopping and for the link you gave...those are prolly AP-14s IIRC.

Just like Sethy said, UltraK's are LOUD, I've had 1 before and had to buy a fan controller to reduce the noise.

But like I said in my first reply, if noise doesn't bother you, go full tilt on the UltraK's but you have to remember the UltraK's are 38mm thick and your regular case fans are 25mm thick IIRC.

So it's a choice between power fans VS quite/efficient fans.

I alrdy sent him a mail he lives on quebec side but work at Ottawa, he might be able to grab 8 of them at a store there. Ill try the GT, I just pulled a box of my *generic* fan and they are actually silent... 39,77CFM at 19DBA... The Scythe GT AP15 1850s seem to be a better comprimise in performance vs noise. With my current fan my GPU's never get passed 75C with auto fan on, It may get them in the high 60 low 70... that would be awsome.

Anyway +rep to both of you. He will be here Nov 20, ill keep you posted of how it went.

I have 2x UK-3000s on my H100 and another 1 in the 5.25" bay all running at full speed. I don't even notice the sound anymore (unless I pay attention to it) My temps are awesome.
