WOW there are a lot of pros and cons...ok if I'm willing to spend what it takes to get a very good back bone to my new system wich I will use to Play the latest DX10 game on max setting with butter smooth FPS. What should I get? Asus, dfi ,abit. ? it seems that in this price range finding one that is above the rest is a hard thing to do.

Thats a sweet %^&* mobo...but ya its expensive! Then again whast the difference in spending lots of $$ on a new C2D proc when a nice pent D will do close to the same....its all about having the best.

....and I thought I paid a lot for my mobo. $265

I'll pay for it (if it double or triple the performance of my current board). Since i already paid $300 for the Asus P5W64 WS PRO, why not $100 more? But the performance is slightly less (on ATI card) and slighter better (with Nvidia card). So i won't spend $100 more on it

I could hardly justify spending that much on a motherboard.

Is that how you justify the cost? I guess we all live in 1 million dollar homes and drive 500,000 dollar cars so we might as well pay at least 200,000 for the front doormat, right?

You have to think of what you are getting for the money before you shell it out. If you can get a mobo just as good without a fancy LCD screen for $200 less, then why would you want this thing? It's just crazy to even think of paying $400 for a motherboard especially with the high GPU and CPU prices lately.

Id wait until prices drop a little more for 680i boards.
ASUS is the way to go.. but $400 bucks is a lot for a mobo.

What about the Nforce 590 SLI? from what I see there is not much of a diff... this came off the Nvidia website comparing 4, 5, and 6 series.
