There are clients for Linux which you can run.

GTS 450's are great, mine produces over 200k PPD when clocked to 925 MHz (i'd clock it higher but it has a single-slot cooler, so i'm temp-constrained) and when i had 3 of them i almost made like 830k running a BGB back in the day.

A single 470 well clocked will destroy them though. Both of my cards can make nearly 1.4m PPD

Dang, maybe I might need to pick up a better PSU! Actually, if I can figure out what the heck I'm doing I could probably fit the 470 in along side my 680 and clock them to the moon for a few days. Does it eat up a lot of CPU cycles when you run the GPU?

It depends on the project. Some will eat close to no CPU, but the best projects, PPD-wise, will hog almost 1 core per GPU.



Also, your PSU should be able to hold the 680 and 470 together, then dump the 450 on the i3 rig. If both my heavily OC'd 470's live and crunch happily on a 750w PSU...

Oh yeah I wasn't worried about the PSU, I'm just very picky about how things are arranged in my case. Can't mess with the feng shui you know. I'll get them rolling as soon as I get home from work tomorrow.

I dont know anything about BOINC, but i can stop folding on my gtx 570 in my main rig and help out with the event if it helps. Its been stable at 850 mhz for months. I'll work on getting it going now so I can get familiar with how BOINC works. I just need to get it back folding in time for the FFW

I do not mind much a couple cables out of place, but i do have to think of the placement of stuff in my case, thanks to the water tubes and such, so i partly understand. I know you can come with a nice placement biggrin.gif

The BGB should be done and give you a bit of time for you to switch back to folding.

All signed up and running on the 570 thumb.gif I set it up to run just the gpu on my account page, so I'm assuming it will stop using the cpu once it finishes its current task?
