MSI 990FXA-GD80 Question?

Thread Starter
So I bought an MSI 990FXA-GD80 V2 board about a two months ago. However, I'm used to my computers lasting years and years and years. Like my first ever computer still runs its about 12 years old and it still works perfectly fine. The thing is what I can do to make my motherboard last longer? I've read horror stories about new motherboards dying early as a year after being purchased, is there anything I can do to increase the life span of this board? Or should I just sell it to someone and buy a different board?

Sure. Keep your voltage on your CPU low, get a very reliable power supply, and maintain good airflow to keep all of those components cool.

This board is built like a tank dude.......yes previous MSI AMD boards were horrible but with 990FX boards MSI have improved a lot
Bought my board (V1) in July 2011 running at 4.0Ghz since then @ 1.5v still running like a champ no signs of degradation still yet not only that i have experimented with insane voltages with this board and gobbles without any trouble...so keep ur CPU temps in chk, maintain good airflow,a good branded PSU to provide clean power and ur good...nothing to worry abt thumb.gif
