If you were level 30 you could equip a level 30 item in all slots...but if you had a level 25 in one slot you could have a level 35 in another. I think it was only a 5 level over limit. It was nice. You could customize your toon a bit by skimping on armor to have a better weapon for example. They removed it with the excuse that players were having trouble understanding it. The day I cancelled my sub was the day after they removed this functionality.
There had been other things that had been removed...like there was this diplomacy system/minigame in Vanguard. You could have these diplomatic "duels" with NPCs and if you did well enough you could earn zone bonuses for you and your faction...maybe it was guilds too. Again, it was something different that made the game stand apart from others and if there was bugs with it neither I nor any one else saw them. Yet they removed it from the game.
WEll, they have this Diplomacy Card Battle game in it though
Ive done it a few times, and recently as in like I started the F2P game liek 2 days ago lol.
Really my problem is the combat system is just plain weird.. the attack animations are weird, and there is an odd delay on some classes attacks. the game gives you no reason to use speedy weapons for your attacks because it seems to hardcap a slowness even with the auto attack =/
I like the DnD style they were goin for, but just poorly implemented. there are certainly some weird bugs that ive seen so far
