WoW: Mists of Pandaria

I use to play WoW some time ago, and still get the Blizzard/WoW emails. The first one I saw with screenshots made me literally check the calender to see if it was April 1st. It wasn't, but I'm still laughing. biggrin.gif

I still gave it a shot, as a friend pushed and prodded me, and I finally caved. A ressurection scroll and about 5 or 6 hours later, I mailed the gold I had to a good friend, and uninstalled

LOL. That game is really bad, but not only because of coding, it just isn't the NFS we remember, and it fails to be as good fun as a Burnout.

But I bet it doesn't run @ 120fps on your fantastic rig.

All Points Bulletin - Reloaded

Before Reloaded took over and it was under the control of Realtime Worlds, I really enjoyed this game. I haven't enjoyed, or found any other game that comes this close to the creative side of customization this game provides. Mixing, resizing, rotating, swapping colors on 100+ basic symbols to make the perfect design for my characters clothing and vehicles was so much fun. I loved showing off my creations in-game. There is a lack of clothing options but you could make up for it by creating your own 2D details. The missions and weapons were unbalanced, but if you were good it didn't matter.

Currently, I still try to enjoy the game, but I no longer can. It's now right in line with how I feel about MW2, and with similar reasons as to why I hate it. Once reloaded took over, they started added crap to the game and added huge limits to the customization system. They made the game free to play, and limited all free players' customization. If you bought the game before they took over, you now have to buy a premium package just to be able to get back most, not all, features, and it's per month (never buying it). The game now runs like absolute sh** and looks bad. 60fps feels like inconsistent 20fps. Any for of smoke particles, like blood, fire, shooting effects, bullet impacts and such now drop my framerate down to 10fps or less (more like the game freezes for 0.8 seconds during the effects). Just driving around in a district causes stuttering. Mouse input is now delayed and has inconsistent mouse acceleration (you can turn it off by modifying the input config file, sometimes).

Most actions are server side, which used to not be a much of a problem until Reloaded took over. Driving is about a half second delay even with 20ms to the server. Shooting and recoil is server side and causes you to sometimes ghost shot. Basically your gun will shoot and not use ammo or deal damage. Hit registration is server side but is not accurate when sent to the client. You can get 9 hit markers but only 5 shots hit. Other times you'll get 3 hit markers, but a second later the person you shot dies while you're reloading, and you needed 5 shots to kill them. Blood is client side, but is linked to the shots fired on the server. Now blood is client side, but it's linked to the shots fired on the server. If you ghost shot you won't see blood yet if you shoot normally you can see blood from your target even though your bullets are not hitting on the server.

With the graphics they first removed the better looking bloom and replaced it with something that looks like I covered my screen with Vaseline and added "fun house" colors. Recently one of the dev members changed the graphics to "improve" the look by decreasing the bloom, increasing the contrast way too high, and added a blue/purple filter to everything.

I don't even want to get into on their pricing for all the features they removed and are calling "new". oh, and they have this Threat segregation thing, which separates "low skilled" players from "high skilled" players. I put those in quotes because the highest threat you can get is gold and 90% of the golds I play against forget how to click left mouse, and according to the average threat on each district/world, only 10% of the players are gold...

And if you go on their forums, there's people on there complaining about low frames per second and bad performance on their sandybridge setups @ +4Ghz with +8GB ram and GTX 670's and higher with SSDs. Yet there are those few with hardware that I would feel bad giving to someone who manage to run the game nice and smooth.

TL/DR
APB was good until Reloaded took over. Game has been downhill since and it is no longer fun for me to play. It now runs like sh** (ok maybe that's not the best example because sh** can be runny for a long time;))

Sounds more like you had issues with your hardware. I played APB Reloaded and it ran fine, the only thing I personally hated about it was the steering mechanics but after a day I got the hang of it.

Runs at 30-50 fps in certain areas and 60 fps in others. Pathetic filth of a game.

One of my friends playing that game had various issues running overclocked hardware, moment he returned to stock the problems went away, and came back the moment he overclocked again. He has no issues with the numerous other games he has. So he might want to look into that as a possible cause.

I can't understand why people say Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Crysis 1+2, Half life, Farcry, Diablo 3, Battlefield3, Mw3, Wow, Mass effect, Dragon age, Fallout 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, GTA 4, L.A. Noire or Left 4 Dead 2.

Either you people haven't tried many games. or you just didn't get them. Just because a game doesn't live up to some extremely high expectations doesn't mean its the worst game either! I usually won't play a game for long if its bad, so I don't really remember many bad games, but one game that comes to my mind is neverwinter nights. I really gave that game a chance and I played it for a whole day, yet I still hated it and I hated every moment of it. There are other games that I didn't enjoy, but I can still see why others do so I won't rank those as bad games

Jokes aside, there's your answer. Different tastes. Although I would argue that in most, if not all cases, it's an exaggeration. We have all played much worse games, yet for some reason decide to list a major title like any of the above. I, for example, did not like GTA4 one bit, but it's far from >the< worst game I've played.
