The reduction when OC'd to 5GHz is equally impressive as it uses ~70W less (322 to 254) thumb.gif

^ There seems to be a difference in some tests and some particular platforms. This may have to do with why GIGABYTE has not approved FX-83XX use on 4+1 phase boards without VRM cooling. The results seem to vary?

Are there any undervolted power consumption numbers? AMDs are always overvolted pretty bad

If true, then that's a fantastic release for AMD. That dramatic of a power drop is superb from an architecture update. Plus the IPC increases, AMD has a solid architecture on their hands.

Hmm these figures look great, why do they differ so much to the other reviews? Power consumption is the only thing putting me off an FX 8320 right now, I'm quite happy with the increased performance I'd get while encoding, encrypting and compressing.
