It's cooling down here in LA (not that it was that hot to begin with), and so I went from stock back to my overclock. My blazing speeds have returned, but so has this occasional keyboard/mouse lag. I just realized that it was never a problem on stock. It was only a problem earlier this year (when I had my PC overclocked), and now. I've searched the internet to find the exact cause (cpu-nb, cpu, ram, etc.), but I can't find anything.
To describe the lag, occasionally, I will be typing or moving the mouse in a program or game (it has happened when typing the password to a wireless network and when playing SC2), and the letters or mouse cursor will move several seconds later (like 3 seconds).
I'm running a Thuban 1090T on a 890GX MoBo with 1600 G.Skill RAM. The 1090T is @ 4Ghz, IMC is clocked at 3Ghz, HT link is @ 2Ghz, RAM is at 1600Mhz 8-9-8-24-1T.
I would definitely appreciate any EXPERT advice. It would really help me save time instead of having to tweak the frequencies of each component.
BTW, my overclock is stable on 10 hours stable on prime95 blend test with max RAM being tested.
Since my keyboard and mouse are connected via usb2.0, I would guess that whatever is controlling the usb ports is likely the cause. From my understanding, I believe that's the HT link. But, that wouldn't make sense because the HT Link frequency is at stock (2Ghz).
