Over the past few years I have been in a constant state of upgrading my PC setup (as we all usually are lol). I began using mulitple screens with a laptop. I went from simply throwing another screen next to my laptop, but over time I built a custom top to my desk and then slowly added to it in phases over two years. During this time i was also growing my audio setup as well due to my love for music. So the following pictures tell the story of the slow build process. I am finally happy with my setup overall....For now;) Thanks for stopping by, any comments and suggestions are welcome:thumb:
The main theme of this room setup is ergonomics for me personally, the way things are laid out is how i find it easiest to use the small space in this room (11'x10'), thus your milage may vary on where you would put things.
And also I have made and moddified almost every pieve of furniture in the room to suit my needs (some small and some large mods)
This is a picture of what my temporary summer setup looked like a few years back:

This is what my dorm room setup looked like for the past year
desk top is 2 years old at this point and already had one modification done (bottom area housing the speakers and receiver)

The third and longest phase of desk construction happened at the beginning of this past summer where I took the base part of my old desk, added the three pull outs with one screen mounted in the middle one
and then adding the cabinet lighting extension to the desk top and behind the middle monitor
Here are some pictures of the construction:

Making sure the screen worked correctly

Pull out installed and desk top in its final position....Time to fill it up with stuff!!!

This is after the initial install of most of my gear, note the old cougar evolution pc tower instead of the Corsair 300R I have now

And NOW the final and current room setup (complete with the lived in look of having my stuff everywhere in the room lol

all three pullouts out = lots of work space for an engineer

all pushed in, the printer can be pulled out and used even while the aboce pullout is being used

The FULL view of the command center

And of course the rest of the room:

headphone stand I made

behind me at the PC

to my left at the PC

custom boxes to elevate one set of speakers above my floor speakers

not the greatest head phone stand but I needed one and so I spent 20 minutes and made one
the top has been built and in use for the past 2+ years but the bottom will be my new home for speakers, double subs, dual av recievers and all my other goodies with penty of room to spread out my work etc. in the years to come. The plan is that the three bottom sections will be bolted together so i can dissasemble the desk and pack it in a fairly small footprint if i need to move, but its assembled size is 8' x 4' overall and 6.5' tall at the top of the hutch. So anyway just thought I'd leave a teaser as I'm refining the design and will likely have it completed with any luck early this summer
