Need PSU Suggestions

Thread Starter
Hay guys
im having some voltage problems with the PSU i got originally a while back (Cheap) i need a new 700 watt PSU . i was looking at the ModXstream how ever the cables look to short . i have the NZXT tempest case using the thermal calc im using about 612 watts atm but ill be getting a new GPU soon so i need the extra wattage. Has anyone got any ideas i need to give stable voltages as the built is currently an X6 100T at 4.1GHZ( it was a 4.2GHZ but because the voltages are contestant it had to be under clocked) I am living in the UK so ebay or amazon is pref . Any ideas ?

I'd personally stick with Corsair, they have quality PSUs.

Sorry but those choices are pretty crap to be honest, the TX650V2 is a better option over the GS series, the akasa venom isn't a good choice at all, the XFX is passable.

I'd have a look at the TX series, the 750V2/650v2 is epic, the Antec High Current Gamer 620W is very good as well.

What GPU are you adding? Do you plan on adding a second card? What's your budget?

As for the TX650v2 vs XFX Core Edition 650w. They are good mid-range unit that is base on the same Seasonic SS-650AT unit internally. If I had the choice between those two, and they price the same, I would go with the XFX due to the 4 native PCIe connectors vs the 2 on the TX650.

Kinda pointless and having it native doesn't make a huge amount of difference any more does it?

This is one of the best bang for your buck reasonably priced modular psu's http://www.amazon.com/XFX-PRO750W-Edition-Semi-Modular-80Plus/dp/B005IUVYA2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1350999553&sr=8-2&keywords=xfx+750

Both this model and its 850w version have the same base model and components as XFX black edition, it scored well at johnny guru http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=165

Basically its a seasonic m12 with nippon chemi con capacitors.

Pointless, how-so?
It doesn't make a huge amount of difference, but if you are purchasing something may as well as get something that has the appropriate connectors for a 650w unit, so you don't have to use a molex to PCIe connector, especially when they are in the same price point.

No problem mate, I was just saying the akasa was a really bad choice, you have redeemed yourself bro by pointing out that it was an accident biggrin.gif

Because the Corsair PSU's have a better warranty and if I remember rightly without checking the TX*50V2 are slightly better performance wise than the XFX ones.

Don't get me wrong, either will do the job without any issue what so ever, they are both good, solid PSU's.

I'd personally go with the HCG to be honest. Modular, solid, low ripple etc etc.
