Nice. Everything looks great! I just saw this log. Looks perfect so far. What are you other plans for modding! There's a lot of Prodigy build going right now. Please take a look on mine too! thumb.gif

So, cant decide if i want to re-use my RS240, or go bigger, or if I even need to go bigger.
Also, cant decide on a reservoir. Should I get one that mounts on top of my MCP 350 that I just bought? Or go with a separate reservoir?

Thoughts? Opinions?

As far as other mods, I will end up doing a window or two of some sort. Havent decided on anything else yet.

I've replied in the Prodigy club thread, but I suggest at least another thin 120mm if you can fit it somewhere.

The problem with a single thin 240mm rad is that you're forced to use higher speeds to accommodate for the lack of cooling surface. Having a thicker rad allows you to get more silent operation (granted it is 8~10FPI) while having 2 thin rads allow you to get the silence of thicker rads while getting similar or better performance. Push/pull isn't necessary though.

If you are to run your CPU + GPU at stock clocks, it might be a different story. I use mine with at least mild overclocks (GPU being at stock voltage most of the time).

Here were my typical temps with the three setups I've had for my Prodigy:

  • Single RX240 push/pull - GPU: 45C load | 3570K @ 4.7ghz 1.264v: 75C Prime95 AVX
  • Single EX240 push/pull - GPU: 48C load | 3570K @ 4.7ghz 1.264v: ~80C Prime95 AVX
  • EX240 p/p + EX120 p/p - GPU: 38C load | 3570K @ 4.7ghz 1.264v: 65~70C Prime95 AVX

Monsoon 90° Rotary Angle Adapter - 1/2" OD - Chrome (MON-RO-90-12-CH)

Monsoon .999 Fine Silver Bullet Antimicrobial G 1/4 Plug - Black (MON-PLUG-AG-BLK)

EK DDC X-RES Top 140 - Acetal CSQ -Laing DDC / Swiftech MCP350/355 (EK-DDC X-RES 140 CSQ - Acetal)

Phobya Universal Pump Mount Base - Silver (Laing DDC / MCP350 Series / Eheim) (52086))

PrimoChill PrimoFlex PRO LRT Tubing 3/8"ID 1/2" OD with 1/16" Wall - UV Blue

EK MSI Lightning Radeon HD 7970 VGA Liquid Cooling Block - Acetal + Nickel CSQ (EK-FC7970 Lightning - Acetal+Nickel)

3-pin Y Cable Splitter - Black

Oh I only used 2 screws that were part of the 120mm fan mounts on the front panel. You could technically drill the other 2 holes as well.

I think I will get better cooling g from the bigger rad... I guess.

So an RS240 and the alpha cool 140mm

Should do well enough
Yep, you're in good shape as long as you have a second rad to help.
