Why? It's not meant for gaming or heavy graphics work.
HD4000 can handle displaying text and vids at that res just fine.

The expectations people here have from Apple is amusing.

Don't get me wrong man, I like Apple products. I've went to bat for them many times on this forum. If you're bored check out my posts in the Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 thread where ( in my opinion at least) I thoroughly dismantled a fan boys pitiful complaints about the iPhone 5. I just wish they were able to fit the A6 in there, I suspect they didn't want to have supply issues if Samsung is there only Fab for the A6 and they're already using it in the iPhone 5 and iPad 4.

I think iPad Mini is much better then Android 7inch tab. Its the perfect screen size. Almost like a 8.9" Samsung Tab.
The sceen would have been nice Retina but it would cost a lot more and it would be hard to fit that much battery to power it.
Everyone is fine with Windows Surface Resolution but now hate Apple because of their decision.
The main point is what will be iPad Mini 2? If they did infarct add Retina it would have also mean at least A5X or A6. What would be left for upgrade. Apple is a business to make money.
Personally i prefer Mini over the one i have now. Just has to be Retina when it comes out and i will upgrade/downgrade.

Sure, I get what you're saying. iPad 2 is still a super quick device so I'm not sure why all these review sites are saying it's terribly under powered when it's GPU still still top 5. I hoped for the A6 due to it's vast improvement as far as Web browsing, my iPhone 5 just flies at loading the pages and I'm sure a higher clocked A6 would be blazing performance.

Also you could rotate it 90 deg. as it looks much better for non optimized web page.

That doesn't matter, someone said that Apple faked the screen shot, I proved they didn't.

Whether it's made properly for that resolution is irrevelant, Apple were correct in that the iPad mini shows that webpage better than the Nexus 7. I personally find that you can't use the Nexus 7 on most web pages horizontally, because you can hardly see anything, thanks to the address bar, notification bar and on-screen buttons.

Even the Overclock.net homepage looks horrible on the Nexus 7.

Even on a first gen (same resolution as the mini) iPad, this page looks far better.
