So? That just highlights the versatility of the nexus.

If I need to start customizing a device so that I can happily browse in landscape mode, I'm not happy. What sort of tablet device wouldn't be good to browse in landscape from the factory?

Defending a shortcoming by saying you can go to your own lengths to fix it is silly. In that sense, an iOS device can be jailbroken and is just as customizable as an Android device. See how that doesn't quite work?

Your argument makes no sense.
Are you saying its a negative point to be able to customise your device to your liking? Jailbreaking an iOS device is the best thing you can do to it. You're not locked in to Apple's way of thinking. It becomes how YOU want YOUR device to function.

Trying to get facts from YOU, other than a strong opinion just like the rest of us.

Just to be clear..I love the Apple hardware. But I hate the attitude,.

And would never use a restrictive OS
I told you a fact -- the larger the display (and denser the resolution) the more powerful backlight needed. The 4/4S' display only uses 0.42 watts per hour at max brightness, whereas the iPad 2's display uses 2.7 watts per hour and the iPad 3's display uses 7 watts per hour.

I'd estimate that the iPad Mini's display will use about 1.6 watts per hour, but if it was Retina it would be more like 4 watts per hour. And then to power that resolution the A5X would be needed so you'd end up with very little battery life and a lot of heat.

If you're bored check out my posts in the Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 thread where ( in my opinion at least) I thoroughly dismantled a fan boys pitiful complaints about the iPhone 5. I just wish they were able to fit the A6 in there, I suspect they didn't want to have supply issues if Samsung is there only Fab for the A6 and they're already using it in the iPhone 5 and iPad 4.
I'd say it's more likely they don't want to make the iPad Mini an equal performer with the iPad 4, and they don't want it to outgun the iPod touch 5 either.

I'm not saying it's bad to be able to customise your device. I'm saying if a product can't do one of its most basic functions well without modification, then it hasn't been very well thought-through. You shouldn't have to customize a Nexus 7 to get decent landscape browsing. It's a tablet, its primary purpose is web browsing and it can't do it very well at all in landscape mode. What does that say about the more intricate parts of its design?

But you obviously can as shown by the guy who said it doesn't look anything like how yours looked.
I hate how Safari works. It ruins my browsing experience and apple makes it come stock with their products. To solve this i can go to the app store and download a better browser - Chrome. What's your point?

Mine is totally stock, I know for a fact his isn't. Look at different pictures of Nexus 7's online, his isn't standard. You can make it better, but you shouldn't have to. It's the tablet's primary purpose, it should be good at it, it's not.

I don't get the safari reference at all? No-one brought individual browsers into this.

Apple did. They compared Safari with Chrome.
