verizon kind of sucks for choices. i just switched to verizon, problem now is no N4, no good lumia phones.
the obvious choices are galaxy nexus or S3. S3 is still pretty high in price, gnex is cheap. so it boils down to what you want. do you want what's perceived as the best phone out (s3)? or do you want a dev phone that's just as good as the s3, but get the latest updates before anyone else, have the most supported device out by both google and community devs (gnex)?
personally, i have always had nexus phones, and i will continue to always have nexus phones. even after a year, the galaxy nexus is still up near the top tier as far as hardware and performance. i'm already running android 4.2 camera, gallery, wallet, youtube, currents, music, mags, clock, keyboard, etc. while S3 owners are still waiting on 4.1.
