I'm running stock 3570k, willing to overclock later at somewhere around 4.2ghz (cba with box fan). My main 2 favourites are GELID Solution Tranquillo r2 and Hyper 212+, little scared about the weight too, never had fan. Case is Corsair 300R. Answer fast please, I will be ordering it today. Thank you.

My case is the 300R and I'm using the Hyper 212+.
I have no issues with the 212+ (height of 159mm) and the side panel fans (120mm or 140mm).

I dunno about the Gelid.
I would recommend the 212 Evo instead of the Plus.
The Evo has a better contact chip than the Plus.
But the Plus is still a nice heatsink.

Right, I will go for the 212+ EVO (only EVO supports 1155 socket).

212+ supports 1155 [source]

The EVO comes with a 4-pin PWM connector, I don't know if the Plus does though the website says it does. But I heard the fans were different if you were in the US compared to the Europe.

The difference between the two is a few degrees so I would get the cheapest of the two or get the EVO as it has a PWM fan if you care about sound. Its up to you now tongue.gif

The difference is about $1 and the tech info says the 212+ doesn't support 1155. Ordered the EVO, hope I will be able to mount it. biggrin.gif

The Evo has two versions (US and EU) and both comes with a PWM fan .

The US Evo (RR-212E-20PK-R2) has a fan with 600rpm-2000rpm.
The EU Evo (RR-212E-16PK-R1) has a fan with 600rpm-1600rpm, less airflow and lower static pressure than the US Evo stock fan.

I believe that there's no reason to worry about the EU stock fan.
But if you have any issues with the stock fan you can still replace it with other 120mm fan.
Fans are usually cheap and there's plenty of nice 120mm PWM fans.
