the toshiba has faster rpm and cheaper, I want to know if its a reliable brand? and if the $10 more on WD Caviar blue is worth it? Thanks everyone.

Well, these are two different products. One is a 2.5" and the other is a 3.5" drive. The 2.5" is more intended for laptops, not so much for desktops. If you want storage for you PC, get Western Digital or Seagate.

EDIT: oh and it's HDD, not HHD.

EDIT 2: I don't know about Seagate, but WD offers Green, Blue and Black drives. Black is more for performance. Green is pure storage, low power consumption, and low performance. Blue is somewhere between Black and Green. I guess nowadays HDDs are all for storage, rather than for the OS or programs.

What do you need the hard drive for? Is it for your OS and programs? If yes, then you might want to consider an SSD.

Did not had the chance to try their hard drives, but Toshiba is a reliable brand, i wouldn't worry much.

I would just go with a WD Caviar Black. Fast drive, reliable (well as reliable as a hard drive will get).

Just make sure, like with any kind of storage device, you have a backup. I work in the IT field and I HATE seeing knuckleheads (which you will be one if you don't back up) who come in without any kind of backup... Then I have to spend my day/week trying to get their data back.

between those 2, definitely the toshiba.

1. its cheaper (budget being a concern)
2. its faster at 7200 rpm

I have dealt with toshiba drives and they are decent thumb.gif
