A10 5800k on a75 motherboard

Hey all,

I'm wondering which RAM to get for this rig and also what PSU (I have the parts other than those) and want to get maximum performance.

  1. A10-5800K 100W + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with Antec Formula 7 Nano Diamond Thermal Compound
  2. ASRock FM2A75 Pro4 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  3. ATI Radeon HD6670 1 GB DDR5

Thanks for any help.

Moved to AMD General.

Look for a DDR3-1866 kit at the least (or a low voltage 1600 kit which can clock up to 1866) to be able to use the full 5800k without any bottlenecks. With the 6670, a low end quality PSU such as the Antec NEO ECO 450 or CX-430 V2 will be more than fine.

As mentioned before I have the 450W Antec VP450P PSU would that be powerful enough for the card and the Antec 902 fans, etc running off it?

I usually buy from crucial so...

Module Size: 16GB kit (8GBx2)
Package: Ballistix 240-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR3 PC3-14900
Specs: DDR3 PC3-14900 • 9-9-9-27 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1866 • 1.5V • 1024Meg x 64 •

Module Size: 16GB kit (4GBx4)
Package: Ballistix 240-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR3 PC3-17000
Specs: DDR3 PC3-17000 • 9-11-10-27 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-2133 • 1.65V • 512Meg x 64 •

Unless someone can suggest better, cheers

Edit: I've looked into some RAM would these do any good: Viper 3 Series, Black Mamba, DDR3 16GB (2 x 8GB) 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV316G213C1K)

Says intel but works with AMD DDR3 Boards too. Cheers

OK, so I have this as I got the RAM cheap.

  1. A10-5800K 100W + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with Antec Formula 7 Nano Diamond Thermal Compound
  2. ASRock FM2A75 Pro4 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  3. ATI Radeon HD6670 1 GB DDR5
  4. Kingston HyperX 2,133MHZ 16GB
  5. 450W Antec VP450P PSU
  6. Antec 902 + side fan tricool

I assume this would all run well and benefit one another, what should I do for overclocking wise if anything?

Cheers

Hey guys,

I've got the new rig running apart from the RAM it should come tomorrow, took 16GB (two sticks) from old set up that are 1333mhz. I am having an issue and unsure whether it is due to the PSU or not.

I have the set up in the post above however the graphic driver keeps failing the resolving itself. I've tried the newest one, one behind it, MSI one for the graphics card and no luck. The card is running at 800mhz and 1000mhz so not overclocked and I even tried it down to 780mhz to no avail.

I've done clean install of all drivers, removed each folder, registry entry, used ccleaner, driver sweeper (the new one) and atiman and no luck. Is this a PSU issue or something else as I am unable to do much without it going to a black screen then recovering again.

Cheers

Edit: this is a clean install, removed other HDD's prior, installed the motherboard newest drivers, graphic drivers and windows updates with MSE 2.0.

Edit: I've just bought a Cooler Master 720W Silent Pro M2 Modular PSU arriving in the morning too. I'll install the new RAM, PSU tomorrow and fresh windows install.
