AMD FX8120 MSI 970A G46 Thermaltake water 2.0 Performer. Need some advice/ help

Hello sorry if this isnt the right place to post the thread but i would really appreciate some help /advice. .

I installed a AMD FX 8120 into a MSI 970A G46 And i put the thermaltake water 2.0 performer installed but after i put everything in place i noticed it looks like this:

And all the pics i saw of other guys installs always had either the name up right or upside down or sideways.

I am just worrired that maybe it wont be good like this. And idk if i can take it off the cpu then remount it without getting more thermal grease.Becuase i already tightened the screws down. Maybe the thermal paste will spread to the whole CPU????

Guys and Gals please help me. Im okay with it aslong as it wont be bad for the cpu. if it just a matter of looks then ill leave it like it is. But if it will not work properly then ill have to take it off and reset it.

Thanks for your help i really really really appreciate it greatly.

Hey there smile.gif

This may seem off topic but I really wouldn't advice running an 8120 on that board since the G46 is pure crap and is among MSI's most failure-prone boards.

Its known to have VRM failures even with Thubans on stock...so I wouldn't advice a power-hungry BD.

The CPU will be okay as long as he does not overclock it....Don't overclock the CPU! I have that mobo with a 1090t and an Antec 620 cooling it with no issues. The cooler is okay in that position, its just looks at this point. I would position the Rad the other way though, if you could.

msi hater spotted.

anyways, the cooler should be fine, I actually had my fan on my cpu pointed the wrong way for about a year before I changed it. And really the only reason I changed it was because I couldn't set my ram in dual channel mode otherwise.

Thank you all for your advice and help.

I dont plan on overclocking the amd fx8120 mainly my build is gonna be a internet watch movies and play some games on it. so i dont think ill have to overclock the cpu to do these. I think it should handle Call Of Duty with it stock speed. and im deff gonna switch the rad so the lines are on top i just did it like that for temp i have to take it out to install the atx power supply.

Once again thank you all for your help biggrin.gif:thumb:

Strange cpu choice for your seemingly minimal useage. Not knocking the bulldozer as I own the fx8120 myself but regards gaming use it benefits greatly from oc. Your cpu performance will be limited by board choice in the future.

I've owned a total of 4 MSi boards in the past and never had a problem. My friend also has one, as I recommended him it. He has had no problems either. My dad has used a countless number of MSI boards in the past and never had a problem.

Now I never overclocked on any of the msi boards i owned but I can't say the same for the others. Maybe we just have good luck with MSi boards which is why i will buy one again if needed.
