G400 No longer Fully OMRON

I opened mine today to remove the spring for the middle button.

then I saw that the middle click, the side forward and back buttons, DO NOT, use Omron switches.. The label says Himake, some taiwanese off brand maybe?


SAD day indeed....


Result of the American Recession No doubt..... mad.gifmad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

Only the Left and Right click are still OMRON.

You can feel a very distinct CRISP click on the OMRON switches.. This is true on my Older MX518 and 510 which I have next to each other to compare to...

The new, probably cheaper switches, have a much more DULL click..

Omron, biting into fresh lettuce..

Himake, biting into wet old lettuce.. mad.gifmad.gif

Hey man, I'm not definitively saying it will perform differently.... but it definitly FEELS different.. I noticed this since I got the mouse, didn't think much of it...

It's been like this for a long time. Really a non issue seeing as a well majority of the industry does the same thing.

How is the G400 for 400 dpi? Still really good sensor? I used to hate the way the 518 and G5 were built but after using my G5 the other day I can see why it's made the way it is. Very easy to pick up.
