Hey man, it is the "same material" because you got the NEW mx518 V2,

I was just disappointed that's all, but You can easily mod the SIDE buttons to omron, by a swap.. However you need some Very good Soldering equipment to swap the Middle click, because the traces are SO very very thin...

If you're doing a Switch "swap" for the middle click from a donor mouse, you'll absolutely NEED a solder sucker.... edsyn solderpult is very good...

The reason you need one is since the traces are so thin, and the swtich housing is weak plastic, the housing melts very easily, and the traces also. redface.gif

EDIT,, apparently ORIGINAL release of G400 were fully omron... Now i'm even more sad mad.gifmad.gif

I'm not sure what's in it, but I find the side buttons to be quite mushy. I dont really like them. I'm also having a hard time to find teflon replacement feets.


But, on the other hands, I really like the grippy coating and the scroll wheel.
I keep changing back and forth between my G500, my G400 and my Deathadder.
Decisions!

Not completely true. Some of the initial G400's released into the asian market were full D2FC.


Like I said prior, Id be worried about some of the other hardware changes before a few switches.

keyword: Initial. The change was made fairly quick.


I don't understand what you mean by "ripping off" . Gaming mice in general are built and sold well above cost.. Logitech, Razer.. *insert big name here* all find ways to to maximize profit margin. More or less they trade off depending on price point.

I got a mx510 aswell,but can't notice the difference other than that the sides are sticky from all the years of use.
