Some paint progress.

I sanded back the crap job on the top and bottom today and repainted with the Plastikote Spot filler primer. This Plastikote brand of paint is awesome. I even got to do one panel with the metallic silver. Looks great, going to give it an extended dry, then light silver then clear, all done. Will stash them away cause it maybe awhile before a full assemble.

I'm goin back to my cable sump idea. It is just going to be so much cleaner in the case and help air flow. I will run the short set of PSU cables directly down from PSU, then run Betfinix sleeved down where they are needed to meet them. So am going to have to drill cut some holes in the base of the chassis for cable to run.

My fan appears to be finally on its way from PCCG, so it will be front panel time next week for sure. My new scroll saw blades turned up, so should be able to follow a pattern easy.

I also ordered the Asus usb sound card and a set of SteelSeries Siberias V2 to try. Will off load my Usb Creative and Kave headphones.

Good news on the work front, should be back in work in a week or so time, so the more I can do now the better. I am pretty much over the nag, nag, nag of "she who must be obeyed".....yeah right.

Looks just like the bumper bar of my Missus's Silver Aurion. thumb.gif

But no stone chips or tar spots. biggrin.gif

Did a little mock up of the pump location.

150212_4561733728726_311305709_n.jpg

The "Shoggy Sandwich" decoupling as been given the flick, to bulky and obstruct flow.

Goin to make a Plexi base for the pump to mount to. Then 4 decoupling posts, 1 on each corner of the plexi and to the top of the drive cage. Did I tell ya's how much I hate drive cages? biggrin.gif

Alphacool Decoupling kit.
602326_4561774689750_1949032717_n.jpg

Changed my mind on the cable sump and betfinix extenders AGAIN! biggrin.gif

Stuff it, it's going to be a windowless build. At best will make painted plexi covers at the side of the PSU to hide cable packing.

Yup, not sure what you mean by funny?

I used the Plastikote plastic primer. Filler primer, Metallic then Clear. As soon as I found that Masters (Lowes) had the full range of Plastikote I had to use it.

Fair dinkum looks like a brand new car bumper. They have some great colour. I'm thinking of knocking up some custom paint Prodigy's to sell.

Yeh there are vinyl paints , but the color range is pretty much limited to car interior black. I think the key here is a good plastic primer. Plastikote has never let me down, I was a fool to try anything else and should have looked harder for some more in the first place. doh.gif

What I meant there is that you used that brand that I just found in google after searching for Vinyl paint. Anyway, good to know that it worked. I might use them on mine. Did you see red colored one?

Mate, I don't know where your located, but click on that Plastikote gateway link I posted for your region.

I did see an awesome metallic red that would look great on ya case. Will see if I can find a pic. I'm interested in trying the chrome green for an Nvidia Prodigy case some time.

Here is the Metallic range http://www.plasti-kote.co.uk/Product/pcode---4157/pccode---3620

I am sure they had more colors in this "Brilliant metallic" range ,which is like a chrome. http://www.plasti-kote.co.uk/Product/pcode---4510/pccode---3620

I did not use the metallic "clear" for my seal coat. I used the "Acrylic clear". It says it is flexible and wearing. I did a flex test on my bottom panel this morning. I pushed down and held the the bar for 1/2 a minute. No cracks or chips. thumb.gif
