Ram Speed and my mobo....not matched?

Thread Starter
hello everyone.
i have a problem encountering right now about my stable ram timing.....
when i install my ram Corsair Vengeance 1866 (9-10-9-27 & 1.5 volts) (2x4gb) my system will work for only 5 minutes then after that a blue screen is coming and my system will goin to restart after that.....sometimes when im goin to start up all my application and also the windows program will not run....
i concluded maybe its my OS.so i tried to reformat it and my system cannot over write...so i have again another conclusion that its maybe because of my hard disc.....
what i did is i pull out my hard disc and run to another PC and it runs with full performance......
so what we did is i barrowed a 1 ram stick to my friend a corsair vengeance 1600 (9-9-9-24 & 1.5 volts) and fix to 1 one of my ram slot and we tried to reformat again and it works fine...
So we concluded that its because of the ram incompatibility.......i check my mobo specs and it only supports (1066)(1333)(1600)(OC2666) speed and im doubting that my mobo is not supporting my ram stick 1866.....check this link http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4153#sp ......
i need an exact advice what to do...........im goin to take a good timing set up and dram voltage setting so that i can make this stable or im goin to purchase again another 2 stick of ram which has a speed of 1600?
all are open to give comment in advice...... thanks in advnace for those people who want to share there brilliant idea on how to solve my problem........

Some boards need the Ram voltage to be up a little for stable operation. Try setting your ram voltage to 1.55v (very safe) & check.
Did you enable XMP or did you enter the timings manually?

yes i already enable the XMP....

but still have same situation unstable...what i did is i also tried to change the timings from 9-10-9-27 to 9-9-9-24 with the same voltage of 1.5 volts...... and still it will not start up......

rith now what im doing is im operating my rig with a single RAM(my corsair vengeance 1866) and its working well on movies and internet browsing......but im afraid iff im goin to open some other applications(Games & etc...)maybe it will be in a hunger of ram capacity......

this night im goin to try it in 1.55 without changing the timings....and after that im goin to update for the result here........

i stll have the same situation with my same timings.... itride to rise the voltage from 1.5 to 1.55.-1.6-1.63 but still unstable....

please any body who could share or help me how to set my stable timings? now im running my rig for a single ram,............

but if cannot make this the final decision is to buy a new 1600 speed of ram....either the corsair vengeance low profile or g. skill ripsjawz.....

There are are a few ways to check that ram.

Running it with one stick. (First one, then the other, but using the primary slot...the one you would use for one stick.
Turning XMP off and Auto on.

That should tell you if one stick is suspect, or if your rig doesn't like the XMP settings....

The other thing is the self booting CD version of Memtest (I think there are 32bit and 64 bit versions depending on which OS you are using.)

I think that runs through it's tests in a few minutes and then repeats. You are looking for errors. If there are errors, maybe you could return that ram?

I use GSkill Ripjaws myself, but that's just my preference.

If the ram is faulty you might have some write errors too so in Accessories/Command Prompt (Run as Administrator) type sfc /scannow (system file checker)
You may or may not have to let it reboot to run that at startup.....also chkdsk, just to see if there are any hdd probs.

It might help to know the error code it gives crashing. With Win7 it comes up in a textbox on reboot..if you could post what that says that might help.
Or download the free version of "WhoCrashed", run it, and post the error code that gives for your last crash or two?
