As I recall some of that music production stuff can be pretty CPU intensive when you have a lot of active synths... (if that's what you are doing)... I would expect the performance of such programs to work good on the 8120/8150 or a hyper-threaded quad from Intel. Moving from an 8150 to a 3770K is such a side-grade in parallel workloads that I would call it foolish.

The stuttering issue in games, IMO, is not something that you solve by switching to intel. Granted, the transition will probably SOLVE the problem, but INDIRECTLY. It will be the fact that you have a fresh configuration and fresh install that "solves" your problem. Undoubtedly, if you have stuttering or other unusual behavior in gaming, it is the result of a configuration/setting/infestation problem. Yes you will get higher average FPS in CPU bound titles on the intel rig, but there aren't any games out there that are "unplayable" on AMD but "perfect" on Intel.

When people describe the performance of their computer as "going down hill" that is a huge TELL that A: they are windows users, and B: they are infected.

The computer hardware either works, or doesn't. It doesn't have lazy days or hangovers, it doesn't clock out early because it's Friday. If the performance of the machine feels bad on the 8150, then switching platforms is only going to be useful in so far as providing you that clean start, which will have the temporary effect of improving the snappiness and smoothness of the system. If the same bad behaviors that caused the slowdown on the first machine are carried over to the new machine, it will ultimately bog and stutter just as bad.

Regards,
Eric

Thank you eric, and that strange thing is almost everything in my current system is new along with a new HD and fresh install of windows, and the problems i have had are still persistent, and i cant even run prime 95 at a stock cpu without it telling me i have multiple failures. I never had that problem with my old phenom. i do appreciate all the input and valid points you have taken the time to make, Thank you

If you're not passing prime95 with everything on default settings then either the defaults are incorrect for the hardware, or you have a piece of hardware that is not living up to its specifications.
