Sorry i answered thinking about GTX 650 Ti. HD 7770 is easily faster than GTX 650. Its a no contest. GTX 650 can be compared only with HD 7750.

as far as which company is "best" they're both pretty good, but I've found that Nvidia's drivers seem to be less "buggy" but I've only use ATI for Eyefinity/video surround (since Nvidia didnt officially support it before the current gen cards)

DISCLAIMER: all this information is based on last gen cards or farther back (I've not had Nvidia since 460 days and before that a 285 and 8800gtx) other than that I've had ATI and really have had very few problems with either

I think that for current gen if your going to OC go ATI, or if you need Physx/Cuda cores go Nvidia

also what monitor resolution ? if its 1366 x 768 then get a HD 7770. If its 1920 x 1080 you could try and get a HD 6850 or GTX 560. prices on these cards are low as retailers are trying to clear stock. Both these cards are faster than HD 7770.
