Best customer service ever and a good sensor though. If the DA wasn't so much more comfortable to me I would be rocking a g400 most likely.

If you like the g400 then get another one, now that they've dropped angle-snapping I'd say it's one of the best mice around.

OP get the EC1/EC2 eVo. i had the g400 but the cable broke on me and i couldnt be bothered to buy another for it just to break within weeks again. ( could have RMAd but i changed the horrible shell to the original mx518). youll love the EC1 if you like the g400/mx518. personally i hate the shapes of deathadder/IME 3.0. but i love the bulky/round type of mice like mx518 and the EC1. i recently bought another ec1 (glossy) because of better grip.

The EC1 may be better for you, but not everyone is going to agree. Personally I found the EC1 was too large. Even the EC2 eVo feels bulky due to the flanged right side. The bucket shaped buttons also means no comfortable position to rest the ring finger. The G400 provides an excellent grip with its indented right side and good slant.

Everyone with a large mouse collection will give you the same advice - find a good sensor with a shape that fits you perfectly and buy a few spares. Never upgrade smile.gif

I thought the DA wasn't as high quality anymore because it's all "v3" something something...

To OP:

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the roccat savu yet.

The ergonomics are somewhat similar to the G400, but it's much more shorter. It's also fairly cheap (they can be found for about 50$ on sale).
I believe that Skylit use one, if that mean anything to you.

OP asked for alternatives.

I also think that the savu is a better mouse, overall.

Savu has better internal hardware components and cursor quality thorough out the native DPI range.

G400 may track at higher speeds on certain surfaces @ 800 DPI and lower
