Wise, no need to upgrade unless you are not please with current preformance.

Rumor has it the 780's will drop in the first quarter of 2013.

Personally I think this is a marketing mistake, either AMD or nVidia would be served well laying their new parts on us prior to the holiday season to maximize their impact.

Although they may be looking at it as many will buy current gen for the holidays and upgrade in the first quarter.

Only time will tell as it seems mum is the word .....

I can't verify a 50% gain or loss with 4 nvidia cards because I only have 3. I won't deny Vega's results - since I can't replicate them myself. Therefore I give him the benefit of the doubt nonetheless.

I would go with 2x 7950s or 7970s (new 12.11 AMD drivers do wonders), or a couple 670s. The 680s are just not worth the money.
If you MUST upgrade.. go with the 680 4GBs, with more and more games using higher amounts of vram, 4GB helps alot especially in the future. I would say pass on 3way 660tis just because the performance gains of 3way over 2way SLI aren't worth it. You'd probably just gain a few FPS and your minimum FPS would be more stable.

Now since you're gaming with 3 monitors, AMD is a viable option not only because of the lower price, but also because the design is just better made for surround gaming versus nvidias 6series, with a higher memory bus width, they take the lead with high res gaming in this generation... and I'm saying this as an nvidia fanboy tongue.gif

570 SLI is fine for now (got the same setup). Just have to turn down some settings. (BF3 in medium sadsmiley.gif )

(if I'm wrong anywhere, do correct me)

You guys making it hard for me. Not only because I notice that I'm lacking so much Vram for Surround Gaming, but also what card I should buy. Yesterday I've done some testing with my 570 's on 5944x1080 in BF3 settting on Medium and get around 44/55 fps depending on the Map. In Wow the fps drops to 44/58 fps(Setting a"Good") depending on where I walk. So it is playable but not desirable.

I seriously not a guy who whats the best of the best and bling out on my system but because I have a reasonable budget for the cards I'm ready for an upgrade.

I'd wait till you get an average of around 30-35FPS, before handing out cash for a new GFX setup. I know that what FPS are need for a fluent gameplay is very individual, but I think it's still acceptable around those FPS.

Did you realize his test(that one specifically) and all test are run at bandwidths the equivalent of pcie 2.0 x16 due to the nature of tri/quads?

Here's the litmus test. If you think the bandwidth makes a whopper of a difference, Vega's system should beat my system easily since he's running pcie 3 x16 to my pcie 3 x8 (aka pcie 2 x16). What happens? Care to take a guess?

Use MSI Afterburner to check if you're running into memory limitations or "horsepower" limitations/
If its a "horsepower" issue you could always add another 570 and go 3-way sli. I would imagine a used one is somewhat easy to come by.

I use the evga precision and I'm seeing 1200mb and sometimes over 1280mb usage in BF3 and in Wow it gets around the same. When I overclock the cards a little the fps gain is like 4 or 5 but the cards are getting quite hot.

If I buy a Nvidia card I think I skip on EVGA cards because of the heat.

1280mb that would be your bottleneck right there. Unless you have a 2560mb version.
How is you cpu loading? Out of curiousity.

No. I'm not suprised that's the bottleneck.
