just wondering if there are any cons in what ive decided to do?
ive swapped the GT220 that has hdmi outta my htpc and put it in my soon to be server as i dont need grunt and also has less power draw.
i replaced it with my 8800GT 512mb ASUS card, so there fore its now connected via rgb to tv for image and spdif/digital coaxial to reciever for sound... is there any con compared to when i had my gt220 hooked up via hdmi running both sound and audio on same cable to receiver? mainly intersested in sound quality ...

the reason i did this is the 8800GT can allow me to do some ok gaming on my htpc

thanks for your opinions

Sound quality would theoretically be better over S/PDIF, though there would be a loss of video quality when running RGB vs. HDMI

when you say video loss, im only running ? 720p HDTV so would it be very noticable? i cant see much difference to be honest
