What methods (if any) did you all use to close off all the extra open areas around the fans and what not? For example: At the bottom of the case forward of the PSU, on the side window (in the pictures at the start of this thread) around the fan and forward of the fan, then at the top around the fans.

Thanks in advance!

For the problem with the front door not closing when the SD card is in, I have a solution and it's called a Dremel tool! I just need to cut open the area on the door that hits the card.

You can order magnetic clip on filters made by DemciFilter from here http://www.performance-pcs.com/ . They don't have the Phantom 820 listed, but you can select the option "custom filter" after contacting their support. The communicate with the manufacturer. I'm talking with them right now about a magnetic filter for the vented side panel since i removed the fan there.

Another option is http://www.moddiy.com/ . I ordered some fine mesh and small neodyne magnets from them. Simply remove when you want to clean.

Yeah I have seen those but I want to increase airflow pressure. I am not having any kinds of problems with cooling but one of the benefits of better airflow pressure is increased cooling. I do have a problem with superfine dust, which no filter can really stop. To get better airflow pressure I need to block off all the extra vents and holes not covered by a fan, I essentially need to have more air being forced in that out (which translates to more in flow fans).

Someone on another forum suggested styrofoam. But as he mentioned there could be an issue with static discharge (not good for PC's) and styrofoam can get messy. I would prefer something clear and easy to cut but black, red, or blue (and easy to cut) would be great also.

I don't need to completely block off all open areas I just need to make sure there is more air going in than out.

@Madmaxneo you could just use clear silicon. I use one called Bulldog made by Lepage to block vents and seal around windows. You apply it thinly enough and you nay not even see it. You can then roll it like putty to remove it.

You know I have been so busy messing with other things that I completely forgot to start sealing off my case.... I wonder how bad the dust is now?.....lol......

I had asked a question a few pages ago about a fan for the internal angled fan mount. I believe that question got lost in the conversation so I would like to ask it again.
I need a 140mm fan for that mount because I am want to start OCing and I need to make sure the northbridge (?) is properly cooled on my MB. I've been told that with the higher OC's that it does get pretty hot.
What I prefer:
High airflow pressure
Quiet
Reliable

I don't need the blue LEDs.

oh and that it fits the mount (seems like most 120/140mm fans do.

Thanks ahead!

Cool rig man. Yeah FX-9590 is great if you want a guaranteed 5Ghz. The problem for it though is most of the cheaper chips, with experienced people guiding them, can get them within a spitting distance of 5GHz. In my case I am 50MHz away on my 8370. And my 8350 does 4.95 as well. The prospect of a 9590 becomes far less appealing when you are 100 or 50 Mhz away. Also I can give you advice to get a better overclock on your machine. After 4.7 most FX's need additional cooling around the VRM and the back of the socket. It's normally the biggest thing holding FX users back from the big money OC's. If you really want your chip to stretch it's legs you want something similar to this.

And this

also I see you are using a Kraken CLC. Most CLC's max out at the 4.8-4.9 mark with very few getting further than that. And that is with a good supporting cast such as VRM and socket cooling and a decent mother board. (which you have covered with a saberkitty and a CHVZ)

Now there is some advice you can give me! tongue.gif How did you get three fans mounted on your drive cages? I see one above and one below your swivel mount. How did you do that? Maybe I can mount another 360 in my case!

@IT Diva I would like to know if you can help me with a matter. Is there a way that you can think of that I can mount my SSD somewhere in my case so it is visible to the outside world? I hate having my SSD 's packed away in my drive cage with no way of appreciating them.

Thnx smile.gif The NZXT Kraken x61 doesnt let my FX-9590 above the 41'C in a game like GTA V and than its only using his fans turn on 40% of what it can. Now at this moment my pc is running for 3 hours and its cooling on 15'C on IDLE. My old Zalman cooler had it on 40'C in IDLE. The Kraken x61 was a smart thing to buy imo.

Mounting the fans... Its not exactly mounting what i did. The one on top is just standing on the middle one and the one at the bottom is standing on the bottom. Stil need to find a good way to mount them myself wink.gif

Another question that you might know. I have these G.Skill Trident F3-2400C10D-16GTX which i can set the Mhz myself. But if i set it in BIOS on auto, then BIOS sets it to 1333Mhz. Do you know why that is? Because if i set it on 2400Mhz with hand, then its working also perfectly fine.

Yeah Kraken is quite the beast. But at these speeds what does your socket temperature look like? Cause there are two temperatures you need to keep tabs on. 1. Is your package temp. This is the temperature of the entire die package and this has a max sustainable temp of 72C.
2. The other one you want to watch is the socket temp. This is what your BIOS reads as CPU temp. If you use a monitoring program like HW Info 64 it will be labelled "CPU" under the ITE972 something or the other sensor. This is motherboard dependant and on ASUS boards depending on the VRM temperature will throttle between 68C and 78C.

As for the RAM. I dunno when set to auto it always defaults to 1333 CL9. AMD motherboards can't use XMP profiles. So you have to set your ram to its rated speed and timings manually.

Well maybe I will have to find a way of mounting fans like that cause it looks neat

Ok thnx. I use the AISuite program of the mobo and the CAM program of NZXT itself. The cam i use on my cellphone. I can connect the app to my Kraken and see all temps of the liquid in the cooler, the cpu itself and the gpu's. I also can see on the app what is using my cpu, memory etc etc. I also can set the fanspeed with the app.

You reminded of the 3 fans haha. i completely forgot about them. But i just tied them with tie wraps on top of eachther. Was a bit of a struggle to get them in, but they are in and running wink.gif

Its also handy the 3 fans on top of eachother. The top one is blowing cool air over your mobo and under the NZXT Kraken x61 radiator thats in the top of the cas, the middle blows fresh air over the top and under the top R9 290X (it also cools a bit the Xonar Phoebus that is between the 2 GPU's and the lowest one blows fresh air under the bottom R9 290X.

Anyone have experience mounting a 200mm PSU with a 240mm radiator on the bottom? Is there clearance for the wires?
