Does anyone own the white version of the 820 already? Gunmetal looks nice, but white just has a different room appeal smile.gif

If there is any owner of the white model, he or she perhaps could state something about the quality of the painting job, especially concerning the finish on the plastic parts. I really would like to purchase NZXT's newest addition to the lineup, still I am concerned on how sensitive the surfaces of a glossy phantom might probably be. Better looks just isn't worth the time, when the product is being scratched easily.

The case would only occasionally find itself being transported, despite of that I don't want to handle it all too carefully while working with it (don't get me wrong, no intentions on throwing it around or something, but a case is not a hen's egg xD).

Any statements?

Thank you in advance thumb.gif

The release date isn't untill the 7th, so you'll probably have to wait untill after that to get much feedback from actual owners.

I use the XT45 420mm in my switch 810 and it fits like a glove.

Going from XNine's pics, it's the very front 60mm or so, under the USB and fan controller components, that present the greatest obstacles to shoehorning a 420 in there.

I'll repost the relevant pic below, but see where his 360 is, and how that rad mount framework is raised about 8 or 10mm above the more forward area that would have to be cut out to allow a 420, and if it can't be cut out because of the USB / fan controller, then the rest of the rad mount framework would need to shim down.

According to the review, the measured distance from top of mobo to rad mounting is 70mm, and while that would just fit a XT45 with a 25mm fan, it doesn't allow the framework to shim down any if needed for front clearance.

If they'd of kept the original form factor of the phantom that set it so uniquely apart, longer than high, then there'd be enough length to sit a 420 up there easily.

But it is what it is, and I'll just have to have one in front of me to figure out how to do something unique and pushing the envelope with it.

What is this drone you speak of?

Been getting some more work done and the buildlog will be updated this weekend. Unfortunately, the 7870 is on the fritz, so I have to RMA it.

Heya Xnine,

Any idea when Amazon will be getting stock of the white version?
