Dude, if you have the F3 BIOS installed on your card you have no use for unofficial overclocking mode. Turn that crap off. I don't use it anymore and I have none of the problems I used to have! Just run the -xcl command for afterburner to unlock the clocks without the unofficial overclocking mode and you already have your voltage high enough with F3, so it is just a matter of setting up your 2d, 3d and fan profiles and going from there. Works like a charm for me and I have a lot less headaches to deal with now. thumb.gif

Running 12.10 on my 7950 with zero problems. biggrin.gif

How would you know if you have an F3 BIOS on your card? Will it show up in GPU-z? Is the F3 BIOS only for a particular card?

I have the sapphire dual BIOS card with the second BIOS able to hit 1.3v versus switch one which can only max at 1.2v, does this F3 BIOS allow you to go even further?

If you're going to flash your card, I would suggest you flash using the BIOS used by the Sapphire 7950 OC edition (DUAL BIOS). This would be the safest bet versus flashing a 7970 bios, besides I'm able to go to 1.3v 1200 / 1750 using my 2nd BIOS. Mind you it's bench and gaming stable, I'm sure a 7950 at these clocks is kicking it real good!

If I'm not mistaken it's this ONE. That should be the 2nd BIOS which is more aggressively tuned versus the stock bios. In case I flipped one for the other, HERE is the other bios.

You can check if it's the right one if you have MSI AB and you're able to slide the Vcore to 1.3v (don't forget to unlock voltage in the settings menu in MSI AB).

EDIT: Then again any kind of flashing to any other bios not meant for your card is a risk anyway! biggrin.gif

i would suggest for you to be happy with your clocks as many 7970 can barely touch 1200 core clocks and the fact that your 7950 can, you should be very happy thumb.gif

It is a new BIOS put out by Gigabyte for their 7950 Windforce card - it boosts it to 1ghz core and also provides stock voltages high enough to hit 1200/1600 easy. thumb.gif

Can you provide a link to the F3 BIOS? I checked out the windforce PCB and it's exactly the same as the Sapphire OC edition except for different colored caps on them. I may try sometime to flash my card.
