You know how they have general practitioner doctors as gate keepers for the the more specialized doctors so you have to see a GP before anyone else? Well they call general practitioners 'gate keepers' because they are there to make sure the patient actually needs a specialized doctor.

I see not being able to google the Gigabyte F3 BIOS as the gate keeper for the necessary level of skill to handle flashing a BIOS.

I was too lazy to go look for it tough guy...biggrin.gif Though I did try to look for it in TPU's VGA BIOS repository but I wasn't sure which one it is. thumb.gif

In any case I have my card (7950) running at 1200/1600 @1.256v, it's Kombustor, 3dMark11 and gaming tested stable. I might just stop messing with my BIOS now...might... biggrin.gif

Its a great overclock.. I am able to bench my GPU at the same clocks as well but i only passed the test once because my temperatures begin to touch the sky... however, i completed a successfull bench... I wonder if i switch to Gigabyte windforce 7950, i wud get a better overclock. But i am a bit scared regarding not getting a good overclocking chip..

It seems that all of the 7950 cards hit 1200/1600 which is what I have mine at as well. Congratulations as our cards are amazing with these overclocks. Your voltage seems a bit high for the core clock as I was able to run mine at 1.225v although I understand that all cores are different. Have you made a custom fan profile and what are your max temperatures - just want to make sure that sucker doesn't burn out early on you. thumb.gif

You probably have a better ASIC than my card, thus the lower voltage needed to hit 1200/1600. I actually started with a 1.275v then lowered it to 1.256 and ran a ton of benches and stability tests on it to be sure. I'll probably try and lower it some more in a few days and run some benchies and stuff on it to find it's lowest volts possible. By the way, sweet voltage you have for max clocks! biggrin.gif

As for a custom fan profile, I did set it to ramp up nicely once it hits 60* temps and above to be safe! Max temps I hit when playing Crysis at Ultra settings is 67* playing for 4 hours. As for the other games I play max temps it hits is 61* which is not too shabby.

Sorry OP, back to the topic again! Anyone willing to flash a new BIOS in their 7950 and share their result here?

I tried a bunch of the 7970 Bios on my Gigabyte 7950 WF3 and all of them would not display anything on my screen. Even did the F3 bios but it ran too hot and could not OC much. Decided to just go back to my F21 bios.
