Temps normal or high 3570k?

Thread Starter
in my sig rig i am experimenting with getting a better OC, i am at 4.1ghz with i think it's 1.175v (i'm at work so i can't check to make sure) and my hottest core is running at about 52c (coldest is an awesome 41c) Are these temps normal? They have dropped from my high (in my thoughts) 60ishC temps i had before i reseated my waterblock

these are temps that a recorded when running Prime

What do you mean 1.75 is it the VCore..o.0 I hope is not the that because your socket is going to over heat just to you know..! Ivy bridge i5 3570K 4.5 GHz is perfect for you don't need push anymore 1.35 CVore for your CPU great & temps are in mids trust me on this one...redface.gif

typo haha, it's 1.175 tongue.gif

I can only seem to get 4.3ghz stable @ 1.285vcore and which point my temps hit around 65c - 70c on all cores, that was before i reseated my cooler though

Maybe is your TIM it has air pockets just overclock at 4 GHz keep it for a little text it for now just be safe then sorry..! thumb.gif

IB CPUs use TIM underneath the IHS instead of being soldered, and its crap TIM at that. Standard practice with a IB CPU when you get it should be to de-lid it, apply some decent TIM then just sit the IHS on top of the CPU die, I've seen people that have had 10c+ temp drops by doing that.

Well since i've reseated it then it might need less voltage, like i said, i had a 10c drop when i reseated it.

There also was a huge patch of no TIM right over the cores when i took it off. I've no idea how that happened, As it's the same process i've used for years and i've never had that happen to me.

I see a lot of threads where people push their IB CPU's past 1.3v, i remember when they were first released that was a big no no. Has that changed?
