Wow... You're a member here and you're that naive?

Steam didn't announce they'd be porting games over to linux for nothing dude. Most of the people in the IT field have at least a passing familiarity with linux. And I can't even guess how many users here have a dual-boot option into Linux. Cap that with the fiasco that could be Windows 8, and add in all the advances in Linux lately and the availability of machines like the Raspberry Pi, with a more tech-savvy populace than ever before, and you end up with a lot of Linux adapters and more native users.

Linux is the future. Windows and the iOS are relics, they just don't know it yet.

That may be the case but until Windows/OSX fall from the lime light gregs example will still hold weight. For companies being run by Activision, does revenue matter or caring about the little guy? Most of the IT field is still insignificant to the average user base.

Quoting steam has little relevance here, as Gabe's main focus for a while now is how to open as many doors for sales as possible, naturally linux is an option for him as well.

And thus the problem with giving Blizzard the keys to the car....

Nowadays, buying a game from Blizzard is like buying a car full price and having it really be a cab ride. You pay to get in, but the driver can kick you out if he doesn't like how you did your hair that morning.

You made my point, you didn't disprove it. Steam felt that Linux is viable enough to garner sales. That's in itself is a huge statement.

You're also guilty of being stuck in the past. With companies able to get multi-million dollar capitol investitures from people via sources like Kickstarter, bloated profit-mongers like Activision are no longer the only show in town People buy these titles because they have nowhere else to go. Want a sports title? EA. Want to play a MMO? Blizzard. That's all rapidly changing.

You're seeing the landscape from the valley and not the mountain. When you become aware of all the advancement in these various industries and see how they all mesh, you see for the first time since the Wild West, the inception of the net, and other frontier-esque moments, you see that things are changing.

People are becoming more-tech savvy. My nephews and nieces are all little PC whizzes. And they aren't the exception to the rule. They are the rule. Tech-adoption isn't linear. It's exponential. And you think Linux is a minority? Have you ever looked at the server side of things?

Expect to see everything running on Linux.

The Pandaren of Warcraft 3 only have their physical appearance in common with MoP's Pandaren. They have had all of their warrior philosopher stylings removed and have become Kung Fu Panda analogues. If the Warcraft 3 Pandaren and MoP Pandaren were the same thematically, people wouldn't be calling them Kung Fu Panda rip-offs.
The Pokemon jab comes from the fact that you can now level and fight non-combat pets against each other.

I dunno why people still insist on calling this company blizzard. It hasn't been blizzard for a long time, it's called Activision now. Tacking blizzard onto activision doesn't mean much when all the people from blizzards days of actual creativity and productivity are all loooong gone.

I like many others would drop windows on a pin if only Linux had support for the games I play and want to play.
