Same. Realistically speaking, M$ wouldn't do this because they want sales of Windows 8.
It's kind of sad seeing Windows 7 is higher priced than Windows 8 still lol.

I wouldn't even care if M$ just put all those updates in 1 and named it SP1.5. I'm fine with that.

No, because it would make Windows 8 a pointless upgrade for users.

As a service tech, I regularly have to load machines with fresh copies of Windows 7. Every time I do I have to spend at least an hour if not more (usually 2 to 3 depending on the software load) downloading and updating.

A service pack would be very gladly welcome to stop this nonsense.

Agreed then install programs afterwards because sometimes the Windows Update (or program installer) dislikes that you're installing two programs at once and then requires a restart when Windows Update prompts it.

Slipstream an ISO and burn it to a DVD-R or put it on a USB stick. Done.
Furthermore, any serious tech would purchase a piece of software that optimizes the imaging process. Symantec Ghost for example. All required applications and updates are preconfigured on a seed machine, packaged in a proprietary image format, and pushed simultaneously to all required computers. I highly recommend it to anyone who goes through this process regularily.

Because the Service Pack can be integrated within the ISO image. So if you reformat, there is WAY less downloading + applying of updates via Windows Update. Convenience.

If it makes you any happier, Windows Vista got a SP2

much less rebooting too

No biggie really. OS is still going to be supported for another 8 years. By then, windows 11 would have been announced biggrin.gif

I get a warm gooey feeling inside when I update my system. It's like Microsoft is patting me on the back saying, you're good to go, champ!
