I'm not surprised you came up with that idea

If they're not a needed update why bother. *And 99% of them aren't needed*
What use are they if you don't have spyware or a virus?

Actually that is where you are wrong. Most of these updates are fixes to prevent exploits in frameworks net files and more. There's always gonna be a hacker out there so updating your Windows 7 is very recommended anyways.

I don't know why you wouldn't do that. You're at risk if you didn't. Even if you don't believe you will be attacked. EXPECT the unexpected.

I would feel more comfortable having them installed because it's crucial to protect your OS.

So just to conclude this thread.

We hate Windows 7 because there aren't enough problems.

We hate Windows 8 because there are too many problems.

Then computer enthusiasts wonder why companies don't care for our opinion anymore.

We asked for Dark Souls, all we did is have temper tantrums every time they released some information about.

They simply cannot win with us. We're the spoiled brat in the corner who just likes to complain for the sake of complaining.

You didn't even bother to read the thread, did you ?

This is not about Windows 7 having problems, it's about convenience. Having all the updates until now rolled up into a Service Pack makes it much easier to slipstream it into a Windows 7 RTM or SP1 release.

Also, where is Windows 7 built-in USB 3.0 support ?

Microsoft included USB 2.0 support for Windows XP with Service Pack 1, now they won't give Windows 7 users comparable treatment ?
Quote:
The Linux kernel has supported USB 3.0 since version 2.6.31, which was released in September 2009.[15][16][17]

Windows 8 has built in support for USB 3.0.[18]

From Wikipedia

We all know that USB 3.0 adoption wasn't fast, but we've had motherboards with third-party controllers available since 2010, AMD has had native USB 3.0 ports since 2011 and Intel released the Panther Point chipset with native USB 3.0 support in April of this year.

Funny part to me is, Microsoft thinks this encourages people to buy Windows 8. Stupid people maybe, why would you buy a product from a company that refuses to give its previous iteration proper support? Somewhere down the line, it's going to happen again with Windows 8. Fool me once, shame on me, you know the rest

We're already on SP3, Vista SP3 that is. (Vista > SP1 > SP2/7 > 7 SP1)

Honestly, it's annoying but I can live with it, it's also obvious MS want any reason at all to get us all on 8.

Yes, because Microsoft releases service packs when they want to sell more copies, and includes them in re-released retail copies. Not always just for security reasons.
